Hey Spurs fans. Pacers fan here.
What kind of package should be good enough to get Manu? I think he'd be a really good fit for us. Would a package of Collison, Hansbrough, cap relief and maybe picks be good enough?

To me he's untouchable and I think the front office feels the same way.

the draft trade was good, but i felt the spurs should tried asking for one of ur bigs or bloated contract if u take the **** off our hands to even it up....spurs desperately need a big who is actually +6'10 who can hustle..

the big 3 is untouchable and there contracts are all expiring in consecutive years

all will resign for half or less what they are on now when it all expires.....

The Spurs aren't trading Ginobili. They're not like other scrub teams that blow themselves up prematurely because personalities don't meld properly together. Popovich knows how to run a team, and Ginobili is a big part of it now. He'll likely be a lifetime Spur, just like Tim Duncan. Can't say the same for Tony Parker since I'm not sure if he'd leave to go somewhere else for the last few years of his career, but I'm positive the other two are lifetime Spurs.

Anyway, you guys already got George Hill man, the secret to the Pacers' good record. Pacers: 17-7 with George Hill playing. 6-9 without Hill. Don't get greedy. Besides, I don't think you guys have anything remotely good enough to get Ginobili with. No offense or anything, but Ginobili is better than any player the Pacers have right now. Old or not, it doesn't matter. If the Spurs don't win now or next year, they won't again for a long time since their best players are close to retirement and are in the last 1-2 years of high caliber play.

I don't know...purely objectively i'd take a long hard look at Danny Granger if they made that offer.

That dude's clearly not very bright. He's probably the type that thinks if their basketball card doesn't say at least 20 PPG and they don't dunk for half their points that they must be a bad player.

You know, fans of eastern conference teams who are usually hovering between .200-400 in win% every year and haven't been past the first round since the 70's. If ever.

manus contract i wont trade it next season cause its expiring, same with jacksons contract

duncan expires this season, but i think the spurs will give him one loyalty bloated contract for 1 season, only to resign later for a cheaper contract...

i prefer the 34m capspace that be available to sign at leasts 2 max contracts and fill in the void by resigning whatever vets on the team to smaller pay deals...

No one worth a damn will come to SA unless we vastly overpay players who don't deserve anywhere near max deals. It's just never been a sexy free agent destination for some reason. . . and the cap space doesn't work the way you think. When players' contracts expire, they still count against the salary cap until they sign somewhere else or re-sign with the team. It's dumb how it works, but if we wanted to keep Manu and Timmy, we'd have to re-sign them first, then we could use what was left to sign someone else.

Though, either way, I wouldn't wanna just throw Timmy and Manu into a ditch and say go somewhere else just because they're old. Even if we can't win a title anymore, I'd still rather keep them and let them play out their careers here. After all, you realistically cannot expect more titles in such a short span for any franchise. They deserve to ride off into the sunset imo.

I agree with the above post 100%. The decision to leave will be in their hands. Not the Spurs.

Exactly, there will be no trips to toronto for our legendary big man...looking your way Houston.

After 4 titles, 2 mvps, 3 finals mvps, 6th man of the year and an olympic gold and bronze medal between manu and td not to mention all the all NBA teams and all star teams, they have earnt the right to decide where and when their careers end.

Their value to our franchise is far greater than what we'd get back in a trade anyway
