Well with tonights win over the Blazers we've clinched the number 1 overall seed in the west. All I can really say is that I did not see this coming, I knew we were going to be good this year but I really thought the compressed schedule would hurt us. But we've been playing some amazing ball lately and we're going to be heading into the playoffs healthy, well rested and on fire.
So did anyone honestly think we were going to be this good this year?

After the way we got dumped out of the playoffs last year, I didn't have high hopes coming into this season, especially with the compressed schedule. I thought older teams like us and the Celtics would struggle, and it's been the opposite of that. But clinching the top seed isn't enough, we've done that plenty of times, what we haven't done in half a decade is hoist the Larry O'Brien...that's what I want to see this year.

No way..
Our biggest acquisition during the summer was.. TJ Ford.
We were extremely weak at the perimeter (Kawhi a rookie, Green a benchwarmer, RJ not that good. I mean we knew we were gonna rely on a rookie to really be a factor to our team. That's asking a lot. At the very least, it's hard to expect a first year guy to be consistently reliable. I was thinking we'd see a lot of growing pains with Kawhi.
And then we lost Dice, who was basically our starting PF last season when the game starts to matter. Splitter looked decent for what? 2 games in the playoffs againts Memphis? We didn't get to see Splitter all of regular season. No matter what anyone says, 2 decent games all year was not enough to convince me. I thought Splitter needs to come back stronger if he was gonna be a factor. No one knew if he'd be as good as he is this year.
I thought we'd be seeing a whole lot of Blair.. like atleast 32 minutes a game and he'd have good averages like 12 points, 11 rebounds type but he will always be a weak defender due to his height.
I mean **** man... My prediction early in the season would be a sure playoff team (we did win 61 games), but that we'd probably be more of a bottom seed. like a 5-6-7th type. Something like 48-52 win team kind a thing.
But you know, I'm glad the top teams basically got weaker. I felt Dallas (champion) and LA (the champion before that) was the two biggest heavyweights. Dallas broke up their team. LA lost Odom and nearly traded Gasol and the chaos that happened to the two best teams really made the West wide open.
Right now, my only worry is if we meet Miami. OKC should be a hard fought series, but I still expect us to come out on top. Chicago won't have a healthy Derrick Rose. Well, I guess if Chicago do manage to get to the finals, that means Derrick rose is 100%. I'd fear Chicago with a healthy Rose. Miami worries me because they have the strongest perimeter defense and they're very athletic. Personnel wise, they could really shut our offense down in a much worse way than Memphis did last year.
