Round 2: Spurs (1) vs. Clippers (5)

Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Danny Green
SF - Kawhi Leonard
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Boris Diaw

Clippers:
PG - Chris Paul
SG - Randy Foye
SF - Caron Butler
PF - Blake Griffin
C - DeAndre Jordon

Well game one goes tomorrow and it should be quite the series. We won two of three against the Clippers in the regular season and we played them well in all three of those games so I think we a legit shot of ending this series quickly.

But the key to this is going to be Chris Paul. He's hurt us in the past in the playoffs and I wouldn't be suprised if he does it again. We need to play great defense off the pick and roll and I can Pops putting Green on him early in the game to try and slow him down.

Another factor thats going to huge in this series is injuries. The Clippers are fairly banged up at the moment and haven't exactly had a lot of time to recover so we need to jump on them and push the tempo.

Go Spurs!!

this will be over and quick in a blowout win for the spurs, im expecting a 4 game sweep since the clippers home game would be b2b games....

Hopefully this is Manu's break out series offensively.

He's been lackluster on offense but his passing and play making has been top notch. If he can return to the Manu of last year it just puts the Spurs on a whole other level.

Judging by the Lakers-OKC game 1, I'm expecting the same to happen. Not exactly a blow out, but a win.

The LA game 1 loss is attributed to lack of preparation and fatigue. Add that they're battling injuries and we're deeper, there's no reason why we shouldn't win game 1. I also don't see how Clips can shut our offense down. That's the key to any team beating us. They don't have that Tony Allen type defender to throw at Parker/Manu. They don't have the size inside either. Memphis would've been a much tougher matchup simply because of what they cause to our offense. I laugh at the notion that Reggie/Kenyon/Jordan/Blake will turn Parker into a pussy when it comes to getting to the paint. People just keep on forgetting that we've won titles with every team having that same exact gameplan for Manu/Parker and it never stopped them from getting there as if Clippers bigs are some sort of best defenders in NBA history or something.

What could win the game for them is if they got hot offensively. Since we're not really a strong defensive team, that actually might happen. I expect them to get a game.

Great job last night! I love to watch spurs games right now and i am definetely routing
for you guys to win it all. San Antonio is such a great franchise and players like Duncan,
Paker und Manu are just great basketball players and characters. I hope that they all
stay healthy.

So good to watch. Our passing is really top notch at the moment. If we stay fit we're going to be a really hard out no matter who we meet from now on...!

Go Spurs!

Great win, although I think we could play much better, which is a bad sign for the Clips.

Diaw is badass! Love his all-round unselfish game. TP had a very average game. TD with the retro performance tonight.

Yeah, same here. But that's the encouraging part - that was definitely not our A game.

Same deal with the Thunder, they killed the Lakers without playing particularly well.

Would Spurs fans prefer LA or the Thunder? That's who I'll cheer for.

My feeling is that you guys would fare better against the Thunder, but I'm curious for analysis from fans who watch the Spurs regularly.

spurs are going to sweap clippers or eventually a 4-1. let me remind you that san antonio are in a serie of 14 wins and it seems normal for all the followers of the spurs, and why? Because spurs are dominating the NBA as usual but this year this domination Will end with NBA title for sûre. Now that Bosh is probably injuried for the rest of season if spurs go to NBA finals it Will ne a sweap Luke in 2007 avalise Cleaveland. The real final in terms of level Will ne against OKC and what I saw of OKC is that they have won yesterday against LA with some kind of luck coming back from -7 in the last 2 mins which is the key fact in this series for them. And against Dallas I remember this KD shot for the first win where the ball touched the rimp and the board and goes in also with dôme kind of luck. So OKC is leaving with that luck which may be the luck of champions and also they are superieur of Dallas and La. But San Antonio is for me a step over OKC because the year of SA in the mind of SA players give so much confident : The big three is at the level of 2007 and they are in golf shape, The young Green and Leonard are outstanding (3pointers,defense, transition), Diaw and Jackson have bring some hard and experienced defense and in offense they contribute in scoring and also bring some fluid passing game, and the bench is deap Splitter,Neal,Bonner,...So okay OKC is young and talented with 8,9 players contributing but the Spurs team is better built, deeper, better in 3pointers, more experienced, as good in the paint considering both ends. So I see a 4-1 for spurs against OKC.

It just amazes me how often the Clippers just leave Duncan wide in the paint.

You're making it look too easy San Antonio.

wow i thought griffon and Paul and the clippers crew were a good team but maybe it's spurs who are too good. The guy who make the difference for the spurs comparing to last seasons is Diaw who can express all his talent when the level of the game is getting higher. This guy is just what spurs didn't have to get the title. Now the spurs are almost unstoppable. Spurs 2012 champ!

We had no business winning that game after that abomination of a 1st quarter. But we didn't give up and just kept chipping away at that lead.

Let's finish them!

Return to San Antonio Spurs
