Kevin Garnett?

The Spurs may consider signing Kevin Garnett this summer, according to a person within the organization.

Garnett will be an unrestricted free agent, as will Tim Duncan.

“Hopefully management can do something to bring [Garnett] back, maybe add some pieces to this team that we need to get over the top,” Paul Pierce told reporters after Boston was eliminated by the Heat on Saturday night. “If not, it’s been a tremendous run.”

Personally I think he'll stay in Boston but if he doesn't he'd be a amazing pickup for us.

Thoughts?

I don't think KG will leave Boston. I'd love to have him on the team but I think he retires a Celtic.

Thought Pippen hated Rodman?

I'm sure anyone that doesn't play with KG thinks he's a supreme douche, while his teammates love him.

Man I really would love to see Duncan and KG play together even though their not in their primes it would still be very interesting to watch, those two would be a defensive buzz saw.

Can't rule it out...

It'd be incredible even at this stage in their careers... both are still all-star players and studs on defense in their own ways

Ofcourse this depends on whether KG returns to Boston. I'm sure Boston is his first choice.

But after that? I think we have the best chance. Trying to put myself in KG's shoes here. What would be important for me?

1. Championship aspiration. Why play for something else other than a title at this point of his career? Spurs finished last season first in the West for 2 consecutive years. This year, we ended our season as a top 3-4 teams in the playoff. San Antonio is a title contender.

2. Playing time and role. I'd want to go somewhere I am still a starter and get starter type playing time. I don't think KG would go chase a title as a 15 minutes bench player. He'd want to be a difference maker.

3. Find a team that needs his game the most. This is probably ego, but I think when it comes to changing teams, guys want to be the missing piece. Now, even at his age, KG is still a strong defensive player. We're a team that's lacking defensive bigs after Duncan. Even if both only plays 28 minutes a game together, that's 28 minutes of sickening defensive bigs. And KG has to see how Duncan has turned into a faceup jumper. KG has got to feel like he's a great fit for Spurs. Faceup game? Check. Defense? Check. Occasional post up opportunities? Check.

4. Get me out of the East. I think this is big. I personally dont' feel like guys like KG will just hop on board to their rivals like Miami Chicago etc. I think he goes out West.

5. A coach I can respect. I'll know Pop takes care of his players and when it comes to coaches, is there anyone a guy like KG can/should respect more than Pop?

6. An organization I can trust. This is likely the last team I'm playing for. I don't think I want surprises and not be happy. Everyone who has gone through the Spurs organization are happy that they did.

7. Money. As much money as I've made and even if it's not the biggest priority, it's still a priority. Every team that wants me has MLE available. Spurs has that and should offer him that.

I thought i read somewhere that KG intends to retire in Boston.
But if Boston decide to go the other way i would love to have him.

all smoke-screen in my opinion

To me

1 - He stays in Boston
2 - He retires

I don't see any other possibility.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”
