I hope Joseph gets some decent minutes this year. I would say Leonard is the best break out candidate if you can consider him one.

I have a feeling Kawhi is going to. The man just works too hard and fits too perfect. I'm excited to see how good he becomes over the next 5-6 years

Kawhi will start wowing Popovich and anchoring our defense against superstars. I have a feeling Parker will have a bit of a down year because of the eye injury, Manu will have an injury free season, Duncan will be Duncan and the bench will improve. Tiago seemed scared to put the ball in the basket, but now I think he will be more assertive and productive.

Break out year?

I'm hoping Joseph or de colo have good season too. The less minutes mills plays the better and I'm an Aussie.
I've been disgusted with his Olympic play, hoisting up garbage, ignoring teammates and completely useless defensively.
It looks like all he is doing is showing off hoping to increase his interest for his next deal.

Leonard is due for a big season, all the looks of a defensive stopper but much more athletic than bowen so should
be able to contribute more offensively.

For the spurs sake tiago needs a big year too

Tiago's my pick. Mostly because we need him to have a breakout year if we want to have any sucess in the postseason next year.

To be fair, Mills is putting Australia on his shoulders.

Patty just dropped 39 points in an Olympic game on 22 FGA.

I'm honestly not sure how much better Leonard will get over the years, I think he will refine his game but I wouldnt be surprised if he just develops further as a defensive specialist and a few offensive tricks. Hoping I'm proven wrong though!

Patty hasnt looked good but I think he's probably been given the brief that he has to keep shooting for the aussies. The team just doesnt have much offense... It has definitely been ugly to watch though...

I don't know why, but Spurs fans give so little credit to Mills. He is not a pass-first PG, but he is a damn good offensive weapon coming off the bench. He can shot from anywhere, he can drive, he has balls to shoot in the clutch and even though he is not a great defender, he hustles and he is much better defensively than Neal.

If De Colo dropped 39 in the Olympic Games (and look, he was pathetic in this Olympic Games), Spurs fans would be calling him the new Ginobili.

Considering expectations and role, Mills was the best Spur in the Olympic Games by far. I don't know if Pop will end the Neal experiment at the point (hopefully he does), but Mills is our best option as a backup PG. He is ready to contribute and i expect him to play at least 12 min/ game next season.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Break out year?

I'm not overly concerned for his play for the spurs. Parker is going to play most of the important minutes.

Where my frustration was mainly coming from is as an Australian fan.
I don't care what numbers he put up. He was a remorseless chucker in the Olympics. His only efficient game was against Great Britain. Everything else was pure volume of shots.
He plays mediocre defense at best, esp the last play against brazil.

Now I don't know if it was just poor coaching from Brett brown putting mills in that position or mills not being team player but it was frustrating to watch.

As for his time here even if he gets back up minutes he won't average much more than mid teens. Plus I know that pop won't allow him to throw up garbage forced fade aways every play or be lazy on defence.
When he plays to his strengths he is a fast ball handler, heaps of range and can penetrate, can't really finish but can get to the lane. Provided he plays to those strengths utilizing the drive and dish and taking smart shots i don't see why he cant be a useful player for the spurs.
