Hypothetically, if you could package Kawhi Leonard, along with Tiago Splitter and Stephen Jackson and get either Zach Randolph or Pau Gasol, will you do it? And who do you want more?

For the 1st question - no.

I think a package of Splitter + Leonard + Jackson's expiring could net SA a very good player. Not saying POR would say yes (they don't really need another SF with Batum and that huge contract), but a player like Lamarcus Aldridge is what i would expect for this kind of package.

Pretty sure LA and Memphis would do it in a heartbeat. Z-Bo is a good player, but he was not quite the same after his injury and he is already 31. That 3y/50m contract looks ugly.

Pau is probably the best fit to play with Duncan. Smart, long, good defender, great passer, can score down low and has a nice mid-range jump-shot. But again, 32 years-old and coming from very disappointing performances in the playoffs the past 2 seasons.

Anyway ..i don't see San Antonio trading Leonard at all.

I think the Spurs value Kawhi Leonard more than other teams which would result in him not being traded. The guy fits perfectly and has the right mentality.

No way to moving Leonard. So if there's a way to get in a serviceable big without shifting Kawhi, I'm all for it.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the topic. I'm not saying I agree with the fact that he's untouchable, but I really doubt we deal him for anything.

To me if he can get us that 2nd elite level big that'll help us win one more chip for Duncan i'd be all for it. I'd be all over Gasol, but it'd have to be a three team deal we just can't make a straight up deal with the Lakers.

What would you guys realistically be willing to give up for Millsap? Bona-fide 17 and 8 guy, gets better every single year in the league, the most clutch jazzman, a leader on the court - and he's got that San Antonio "no-nonsense" DNA. But, of course, he's undersized.

I haven't crunched the #'s, but would something like Blair/Neal for 'Sap or Blair/Neal and a pick for 'Sap and Raja Bell work? Or does that seem like too much?

Blair and Neal for Millsap? In a heartbeat, if the contracts work.

How about Millsap for Blair and Danny G?

I'd do both the Danny green/ Blair and the Neal/ Blair trades.

I actually think Millsap would be able to go back to being a defensive hustler more again here like back in his first 2-3 years in the league before he got better and had higher expectations in role on Utah... along with older players departing. Go watch the Rockets and Warriors series back 3-4 years ago to see what I mean.

I think that along with his offense would make us have enough overall up front with defense and offense... Duncan/Splitter/Millsap/Diaw

Good for them, but there's only one basketball to go around, and a whole lot of ego to deal with. Still, it's a luxury problem to have. Nash is going to average 15 assists on this team.

I don't think Millsap is the answer for our problems, even though he would be an upgrade over Boris/Blair/Bonner.

He is 6'7 in shoes, he struggles against size (just check his games against LA) and he couldn't even handle Diaw in the playoffs. Diaw completely shut him down.

Against SA Millsap averaged 12ppg shooting 37%FG with a 39.3%TS and a PER of 11. That's terrible. And that was against a front-court with big defensive liabilities.

He is perfect as a 3rd big coming off the bench. Not starting material BIG for a contender though. Of course I would trade Blair and Neal for Millsap. But not only that doesn't work in terms of salaries, but the Jazz would also laugh about this proposal.
