Clippers:

We're 4-0 for the first time in franchise history and now its time for us to go 5-0. But we're going to have to beat a very tough Clippers team to go 5-0.
The key to beating these Clippers is going to be containing Chris Paul, if we can slow him down we can win this game.
Go Spurs!!

Happy for you! I wish I lived in the US to attend some games.
How can SA contain Paul? can Parker slow him down by himself?

I'd think they could try to put Leonard on Paul until Crawford comes in the game? Leonard probably would defend him then. Parker on Warren or whoever starts at sg and Green on Butler.

I don't think so. We didn't see Kawhi on Paul in the playoffs last year. It was mostly Danny Green. I expect that to be the same. Parker will be on Willie Green to start the game.
This is a game I expect us to lose actually. There's a few factors on Clippers side, such as.. They're at home. And then I'm sure they still remember they got swept. Revenge will be on their side. They're rested so fatigue isn't going to be a factor. They've also started the season 2-2, so they have all the motivation to come out great. They're also coming off a lost, usually that's even more motivation. And then Chris Paul was practically shut down last year. He's healthy now and I think he's gonna come out and dominate this game just to show us up.
This is the game I mark as a definite loss.

Well, betting sites have us winning by 2. So I'm placing my bet on the Clippers winning or losing by less than that. Blake Griffin has an injury, but not sure if that's gonna keep him out of the game. Grant Hill is still also out but they're deep enough this year with Matt Barnes as their third string SF.

Parker won't be able to cover Paul... Same as RWestbrook can't handle our Tony.
Danny is one of the few choices we have now. Pop might experiment but i doubt it...
About the result i'll agree with co_laper... But you gotta see to believe right???

Pop experimenting with a Blair-Splitter lineup for 8 minutes now. Safe to say it's a disaster. They're in each other's way. Spacing is bad. It's hard for Manu to get in the paint because the defense is packing it in. Most of the time, it resulted in long jumpers.
I can't believe I find myself asking for Bonner. Splitter-Blair lineup can't work. Either Duncan or Diaw needs to be paired with one of them.

You were close...
Well can i say... It was experiment... I had a feeling that Pop's gonna do that, but never believed that he'll do it...

I didnt watch the game, was it one of those nights where Pop looked for his starting five's rest? I can figure them all benched for the whole 4th quarter

The starters got rest alright, but it wasn't because Pop wanted to. We were practically blown out in the third quarter. We got it as low as 11 points early in the fourth I think but then Clippers take it back to 20 points or so. Manu got chippy after getting fouled and also not getting calls. There was a minor altercation in the game.
Honestly, I really like Blair's activity. He's clearly a better player than Bonner. But I don't want to see Blair-Splitter pairing anymore. It's just one game, but it was bad enough to know why it doesn't work. Both of them are pick and roll bigs and can't shoot. It's just a mess to put them out together. The only time it doesn't look so bad is if Splitter is getting a post up. But when Splitter or Blair is put in the pick and roll, teams just pack it in because they don't space the floor. Manu, Jackson, Neal, they have no driving lanes and the spacing on offense is all **** up.
Also, it's obvious the Clippers are motivated to come out. Just about everybody who got minutes for them contributed. They played hard and physical defense. They were first to every lose ball. It also doesn't help that we can't get a basket even when it's wide open shots. Turnovers also a major problem.
If I was to blame this game on someone, I gotta put it on Tony's shoulder. At this point, this is Tony's team. He has to be more aggresive. He wasn't looking for his shot enough. Seems just content to distribute.
For the Clippers, gotta hand it to Deandre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe. DJ was blocking shots, outrunning guys for fastbreak dunks, getting steals, getting offensive rebounds. He was a young Tyson Chandler out there. And then we just don't seem to have an answer for Bledsoe. He was knifing to the lane, shooting threes, i remember him blocking Parker's layup at the rim, stole the ball from Gary at halfcourt, played strong defense. Jamal Crawford was mostly contained, but came up huge with a couple crazy 3s.

Horrible game and pathetic effort tbh
Spacing is really important in Pop's offense and that's why he loves shooting BIGs. With Timmy and Boris in the starting lineup SA has no problem with that. When it comes to the bench, Pop is obligated to play Bonner because both Tiago and Blair can't shoot and that destroys our offense. That's why it's so important for Blair to develop a jump-shot. If he had developed it, he would have been integral part of rotation a long time ago. But he waited until his contract year to work hard and that's what happens.
I don't wanna see Splitter posting up ever. And I say that as a brazilian. He sucks in the post. He has poor fundamentals. He should focus on his strengths, which would be P&R, setting screens, taking charges and drawing fouls (he has to improve his FT shooting obviously).
But you gotta give props to the Clips, especially Jordan. He was completely destroyed by Timmy in the playoffs and he wanted to take a revenge badly this game. He played really well.
And yeah, SA struggles against Bledsoe because our backup PGs suck defensively, except for Joseph who is not part of the rotation.
Anyway, no reason to be worried. I think SA plays much better tomorrow against Sacramento, especially Tony.

I can't believe we've never been 4-0 in the history of the franchise! We generally always start a season up and down I guess, then start playing consistently well around the AS break.
I had this pegged as a L anyway, you just know CP and the co. had this game circled on their calendars as some kind of revenge. I like what the Clips have this year, they've got another year together as a core and that will only help come playoff time. Crawford looks great in tandem with Paul as well.

Kinda not surprised, but didn't think the defecit would be as big...
We sitll need another big with size and athleticism... trade Blair, or get Bonner off of this team

Well my first Spurs game didn't exactly go so well.
Our spacing sucked and that led to a ton of long contested misses that resulted in a lot of fast breaks going to the other way.
Danny Green really stood out to me, I was absolutey amazed by how active and talkative he was on the defensive end. I thought he did a great job on Paul in the first half and taking him CP3 in the second half was a major mistake.
