The San Antonio Spurs have assigned guard Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.

Joseph, who has appeared in one game for the Spurs this season, had three stints with the Toros in 2011-12. In 14 games in Austin, he averaged 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.29 steals in 32.9 minutes, helping lead the team to the 2012 NBA D-League championship.

I was really hoping he'd start to get some more PT this year but with the arrival of Nado there's just no room for him.

Cory not getting playing time isn't because of Nando. Nando isn't even getting regular rotation time.

Cory's battling Neal and Mills for backup minutes. His main competition is Mills because right now Mills is similar to him, only better. Defensively, they play the same role. Get up on the ball handler, usually do a fullcourt press. Just trying to be a pest out on the perimeter. It's on the offensive end that Cory loses. Mills is better at just about everything there, especially when it comes to shooting, slashing, and basically scoring.

I just hope for God's sake that he plays the point the entire time over there. It pisses me off when they send Cory to the Toros and he plays as a SG.
