The Philadelphia 76ers will hire San Antonio Spurs assistant Brett Brown as their new coach, according to a New York Daily News report.

Brown has been an assistant under Spurs coach Gregg Popovich for the past seven seasons, and previously served as San Antonio's player development coach.

Brown becomes the second Spurs assistant to land a head coaching job this offseason, joining Mike Budenholzer (Hawks).

Second long time assistant to leave the team for head coaching job elsewhere. Happy for Brown though, he's jumping into an interesting situation though.

May not happen just yet.

Apparently, when you work for Pop, you get jobs you don't even interview for. What a gig!

76ers... what an interesting situation. Apparently no Bynum returning, traded their young All-Star for cap space, Sam Hinkie is "case study" for analytics FO personnel.

Does anyone know to what degree the Spurs FO have adopted the new wave analytics and Sloan conference philosophy? I'd love to read the links if they're out there.
