So, Duncan has pretty much cemented himself as the greatest PF to ever play in the NBA, right? Sure, others come close, but I don't think it's much of a debate at this point.

But...he's a center!

I consider him a power forward first. He is skilled enough to play pf, and strong enough to play center. SA only play him as center right now because the next best big man they have is Splitter, which is sad for any team

As far as i'm concerned he's the best PF to ever play the game and its quite hard to argue against that.

This. Any thorough analysis of his career (what he did, and who he did it against) will have you in awe. First Team All NBA, as a rookie! And he just got better from there. Incredible career. I have him as my #7 all time player, and easily the best PF.
Is it even debatable?

No debate really. Timmy's #1 PF

I consider him as the third PF of all time.
In my list Baylor is first and Barkley second.
They were great rebounders with height of guards, and were with high basketball intelligence, not less than Timmy.

hey guys. I don't want to start a new thread so I just want to ask you one question. I know Duncan can play both pf and center at superb level but what about David Robinson, would he also be just as effective or is he just much better as a center?
the reason I ask is because I drafted David robinson in alltime draft in my first pick and might want to slight him to powerforward. For example would he be as effective with Dwight or would he be better with guy like Barkley/Dirk?
ps. I consider Tim Duncan the best power forward ever by big margin and has a good case to be top 5 center, just so I contribute something to this thread

There's no debate at all really. He's #1.
And Tiago is getting way underrated after the finals. He was seventh in the NBA in WS/48 and averaged solid production in 25 minutes. Next year when he's getting 30MPG, it's gonna be great to see.

Yes, and I don't think any other PF really has a case. The only way you COULD make a case is if you completely discount defense, which is just an absurd thing to do. Whatever slight edge Barkley, Malone, Dirk, and McHale (stretch) may have on offense, Timmy completely squashes on defense. There really hasn't been anyone as good as Duncan when you look at both ends of the floor.
