The Philadelphia 76ers have hired Brett Brown as head coach.

Brown, 52, becomes the eighth coach for the Sixers since Larry Brown stepped down in 2003.

Brown joined the San Antonio Spurs' coaching staff in 2002 and moved to the bench in 2006.

Well its finally official after months of speculation. I hope he does well there but with that roster he might be taking a big risk, would hate to see him get Mike Dunlaped.

Sixer fan here. The belief is that Philly made it clear Brown has total job security during the next season as we are going to be terrible record-wise. The tank is on in Philadelphia. Hopefully Brown can work his player development magic with some of our young guys and really have a long-stay with the Sixers. We need a coach that can last and grow with this team.

Not sure if anyone has info on this, but who was considered the better coach? Brown or Budenhulzer?

Budenholzer was Pops 2nd in command for a very long time.
