Damn, I just knew this summer tournament was a bad idea for him. It's turning into a nightmare now.

Hopefully its nothing serious. But if it is we could be in trouble.

Spurs point guard Tony Parker said he’ll be “100 percent” for the upcoming EuroBasket championships after an MRI revealed no significant damage from an undisclosed knee injury suffered Monday during France’s exhibition loss to Spain.

Parker released a comment via the France national team’s Twitter account (translated via Google):

“I am not worried, I’ll be 100 percent for the Euro. I approach the competition with confidence. After the MRI this morning I follow proper care. It does not affect the next game preparation.”

Team director Patrick Beesley also made a statement on Twitter, describing Parker’s second injury to his right knee during tournament run-up as “nothing serious.”

Sounds like the knee injury was nothing and the MRI was precautionary.

I think once players get to a certain age they should be barred from competing internationally. It's too risky to their NBA team that pays them millions of dollars.

Glad TP is all clear though.

RC Buford tells Tony Parker to play less minutes.

Parker has complained about fatigue this summer. Like I said before, I hope he doesn't burn himself out. I'm more concerned about a major injury than I am about fatigue though. The NBA season is long and I'm sure Pop will have Parker on a minute limit much like he does with Duncan. It probably explains why they keep bringing in PGs to work out. It really doesn't matter if he is fatigued in November/December. It matters how he feels in April.

We saw in the Finals how gassed he was. By the last two games he was a shell of his former self.

He started in the NBA at 19, he's played 100 game seasons most years plus all his international commitments too.

But if he plays less minutes, who spells him? De Colo? Joseph is okay in short bursts, but I still don't think he's ready to be Parker's backup on a full time basis.

Joseph looked pretty damn good playing for Canada this summer and in the summer league. I think he's ready to take on more minutes this year.

He's solid if unspectacular. I just don't buy him as a legit backup on a contender. Maybe he'll prove me wrong this season.

I've always been pretty...meh on Joseph as well. Part of the reason could be that most guards next to Tony Parker look like they suck though ......
