T-Mac Retires

Two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady, who warmed the end of the Spurs’ bench during last year’s Finals run, will retire from the NBA after 16 injury-plagued, but often-spectacular, seasons.

McGrady, 34, made the announcement Monday. He played for seven teams — Toronto, Orlando, Houston, New York, Detroit, Atlanta and, finally, the Spurs.

A seven-time All-Star, McGrady had his greatest individual success with the Magic, winning a pair of scoring titles while finishing fourth in consecutive MVP votes. That his most memorable moment came in a regular-season victory over the Spurs is somewhat representative of a career that was marred by injuries and a lack of playoff success.

Can't say i'm surprised but I know a few people around here wanted to see him back next year.

I'll never forget this game though:

Never a big TMac fan. For all his individual talents, he never made any of his teams better. You could argue that he had average teammates for a lot of years, but some of his teams in Houston were pretty decent.

Good article on him: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9616069/the-unfortunate-tale-t-mac

For the most part I really hate Simmons but that was actually a pretty fair and truthful assessment of T-Mac career.
