Duncan has continued his solid play so far tonight and Baynes has looked good coming back from that ankle injury.

You could see Tim get pissed w/himself in the 1st, bricking them wide opens. Right now he's on point.
Double double and just in the zone. Bench has been great again tonight.

Baynes had another strong game hopefully that means the end of Ayres.

I don't get Pop's thinking with his rotations sometimes. I would've thought with Splitter out, you'd start Diaw or Baynes, not Ayres. And when Parker was out for a game a few weeks ago he starts Cory Joseph, a player that hadn't played at all to that point! Why not give Mills the start?

The Baynes over Ayres part, I can't understand.
But the Joseph over Mills part, it might be to keep continuity with the second unit. Mills really don't have much experience playing with the first unit and he's a PG in size but not in offense. Also, Mills can do his fullcourt press and all againts backup PGs and bother them, but won't be able to do so againts top flight PGs, which is every game in this league. Even during the game, usually when the starting PG comes in, Parker also comes back in, unless it's a blow out. If we are to start Patty at PG, that means we need to start either Marco or Manu too because the first team will be extremely lacking in playmakers. Being a pure PG/floor general is the one thing Joseph has advantage of over Mills.
But Ayres, really I'm just tired. He's a 6'9'' Center, who is an awful finisher at the rim, average rebounder, unathletic, can't block shots, with no midrange jumpers. WTF? This shouldn't be a guy making more than the minimum. Fire Jim Boylan for recommending this guy and Spurs staff falling for it. The only thing he has is his hustle, but give me Baynes' hustle any day of the week.

Ayres can't even catch a simple entry pass into the post. I don't know how he made it to the NBA in the first place. Unless he improves his game he deserves to be out of the league within 2 years at the most.

Pop even admits that Baynes needs an opportunity:
http://www.projectspurs.com/2013-articles/december/popovich-aron-baynes-just-needs-an-opportunity.htmlHe seems to be giving alot of that opportunity to Ayers though. I've seen Baynes look way over his head in some games so I'm not sure about giving him heavy minutes. He looks great at times but lost at times. Kind of like Splitter II.
