Spurs point guard Tony Parker has been selected to his sixth All-Star Game, the NBA announced Thursday.

Parker joins Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard, Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston’s James Harden and Dwight Howard, and Dirk Nowitzki of Dallas on the Western Conference reserves.

The starters are Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, Golden State’s Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin of the Clippers, Minnesota’s Kevin Love and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant is currently injured and will not be able to participate.

Parker’s selection continues the Spurs’ streak of 16 straight seasons with at least one All-Star representative. The Spurs have had a rep in 35 of their 38 NBA seasons, with no game in 1999 due to the lockout.

And Marco's going to be part of the 3 point shooting contest. Congrats to both.

Marco gives me a reason to watch Saturday. I don't even bother with the game anymore.

Same deal for me. If I watch, I usually only watch the skills comp and the shootout the rest is garbage.

I can't recall the last time I watched the actual game. I barely even check the boxscore any more.

I'm not sure Parker deserves to be an All Star this season. Personally I think Conley, Dragic or Bledsoe is more deserving.

Parker should make up a phantom injury and sit out as well but he probably wont. The ASG is great marketing for him and his French team.

Truly, I think the AS game is marketed for teenage fans that get off on Sportscenter type plays and minimal D. I don't know why people still get bent out of shape if "their guy" doesn't make the cut. It's a meaningless game.

I think the entire league is more geared toward entertainment instead of good basketball played at an elite level. Sad really....
