The San Antonio Spurs have assigned forward Austin Daye to the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.

This will mark Daye’s first assignment to the Toros this season.

Daye has appeared in two games this season for the Spurs since being acquired on Feb. 20, averaging 3.0 points in 1.5 minutes per contest.

The only question is will he be able to match Nando's epic D-League numbers?

He went for 26 pts and 13 rebs in 40 minutes in his first game. Shot 41% from the field, 1-4 from downtown and 11-12 at the line. 4 turnovers and 5 fouls are the bads. But considering he never plays, it's not too shabby.

For those who were wondering what Nando put up in D-league

23.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 2.8 steals in 37.3 minutes, 52% FG, 29% 3PT%, 91% FT, 4.1 turnovers (8 games)

The comparisons need to stop. The Spurs had no need for Nando in their roster. They could have traded him for a bottle of Gatorade and it wouldn't have been any different.
