Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but Javtokas, at age 34, is arguably having the best season of his career.

He's showing a wide variety of post moves and hook shots around the basket as well as some mid-range game. Heck, he even made around 10 three-pointers during the season.

He was also very solid in Euroleague's TOP16, his stats there (13 games):

28mpg, 12.3ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.6apg, 1.5bpg on 65% FG% and 73% FT%.

On top of all that, he has significantly improved in FT shooting department. From Howard-like numbers (50-55%) to around 75%.

It's safe to say he's evolved from being a one-way defensive player to a two-way one. Might be a solid backup?

Thoughts?

I have never seen his game, so I can't comment on that. But my feeling is that we'll never see him in San Antonio.

He's 34, meaning he's not here for long term. With Timmy aging, Diaw in his 30s, and Tiago at 28, I think if we were to bring in a big guy, it's gonna be a younger one. Most likely someone who hasn't hit 27 year old yet or what is considered in their prime.

It's a different situation now compared to when we brought in Oberto. Our big three was dominant back then and all we needed was specialists around the big three. Kinda like what is happening with OKC right now. And also Oberto atleast has some connections with Manu.

But like I said, I've never seen his game so I don't know how good he is. Not hearing him much anywhere doesn't help my confidence in him though.

He's a had a great season but I doubt he's interested in coming over now.

I think he's probably happy playing great, going to the NBA would mean a year of not playing with the Spurs. Very very few players jump into the Spurs system and get minutes. Meaning, he'd be 36 when he actually gets minutes.

He has always been talented.

But the moto accident pretty much killed any chance that he had to come to the NBA. Now it's too late, unfortunately. He would have helped us a lot during Duncan's prime years.

Bit like Lorbek, I think the ship has sailed, but never underestimate RC & Pop.

It sounds like there's still a chance Lorbek could come over. I'm sure what his buyout clause looks like at the moment but he was very close to signing with us last summer and the summer before.

That's very interesting. Have not studied Barca this season but is his production down? He'd probably have to take a pay cut and Bertans readiness would be a factor.
