Tony Parker played just 10 minutes in the Spurs’ series-clinching victory over Portland on Wednesday after leaving with tightness in his left hamstring. No immediate timeline was provided for his return.

The injury is not believed to be serious, according to a team source.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich did not provide an update during his postgame availability.

“I don’t know anything about it,” he said. “They just said he couldn’t come back.”

Parker will have at least four days to rest and recuperate, and possibly six depending on when the Western Conference finals begin. Oklahoma City holds a 3-2 lead in the other semifinal series entering tonight’s Game 6 against the Clippers. Finish them off, and the conference finals start Monday. If not, the series will begin Wednesday. The first two games will be played at the AT&T Center.

No update yet but hopefully the Clippers can push that series to 7 tonight to give Tony a couple more days of rest.

Grade 1 strain, per WT. Apparently he was playing with a G2 in the Finals last year. He says he'll be fine. I don't like that he didn't come back into an elimination game but I'm sure it was just a precautionary measure.

I'm not too worried he didn't go back in the elimination game. Pop made the choice to not risk injury when there would be two more chances at closing out, so not exactly a must win. Tony looked really bad before he left and there really is no telling when the injury happened. If we got three more quarters of that Tony I would rather rely on the coach of the year and the league's best bench than having a wounded Tony pound the rock all night.

The thing I find worrisome is the strange circumstances behind it. No visible discomfort on the court, he doesn't join the team on the bench, something seemed off.

Now there is Ibaka's calf, one day later than Tony and more severe. If the Thunder don't have Ibaka they are in the same situation as the Spurs without Tony.

Eh, not really. Parker is our motor. Without him we're not beating OKC, Ibaka or no Ibaka.

If the Thunder don't have Ibaka they are not winning a chip this year, same with the Spurs and Tony. We are a deeper team than the Thunder, Heat, and Pacers, but each team needs their top three players healthy to ring.

Yeah but they've still got Westbrook and Durant, two of the top ten players in the NBA. Plus it just means more minutes for Adams and Collison, and you only needed to watch Game 6 vs LAC to see what they can do with decent PT.

If Parker is out for any length of time, our depth chart at PG goes Mills and Joseph, with Ginobili playing spot minutes at point. Not great, and basically no chance for us to do much else in the playoffs.

Durant and Westbrook are indeed top ten players, but so was Harden and Howard. Also, the Clippers don't have the perimeter defenders we have, nor is their team defense as good as the Spurs. Even if they survive the Spurs sans Ibaka, a healthy Heat team would destroy an Ibaka-less Thunder. They'd have no answer for Chris Bosh, series over.

I'm most worried about Ibaka actually.

Based on regular season ofcourse, we've managed to defend Durant well. I mean, well enough. He's doing what anyone expects from an MVP. Westbrook has been inconsistent. Some nights he go off, some nights he doesn't.

It was Ibaka's defensive presence that absolutely kills us. That, and Reggie Jackson turning into Dragic/Devin Harris off the bench. But it was Ibaka who just flat out single handedly disrupting our offensive game. Without him, I'm not sure that OKC will be able to hurt our offense.

The season has shown that the teams that hurt us most is the ones who can bother our offense. So if OKC is without Ibaka, I'm very confident that we're gonna win the series.

Also, Tony is just a grade 1 sprain hamstring. That is predicted to heal completely in a few days. Since we have a 4 day off, we should have Parker at full strength.

Ibaka out for the rest of the playoffs.
