KD dissing Kawhi after Finals MVP

Someone is butt hurt! The thing is Pop didn't call a single play for Kawhi and he still won MVP. KD needs to stop, he's too good to partake in these shenanigans. Glad he said it so Kawhi has more motivation (not like he needs more).

Dirty Durant. His championship window shut when Harden left, too bad.

I don't think he really meant to dis-respect Kawhi. People say stupid things all the time they wish they could take back. KD suffers from being tossed into the NBA hype machine and gets upset when people pay attention to someone other than himself. He is probably still a little butthurt from being knocked out by the Spurs also. Its natural.

Not that I'm comparing the two, but was MJ a product of Jackson's system? How about Kobe? Both didn't do ish without him.

Exactly. Duncan, Parker and Manu are all products of Pops system in some peoples opinions. But the system/structure is only a guide line to success it stills takes dedication, determination and talent from the player to be successful. The old saying "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" applies to all of these examples.

Yeah. People talk about the system like it's some sort of template that automatically generates wins, no matter who you plug into it. As I type that I tend to think there is some truth to that, but at some point the players have to get credit too. Kawhi may very well be a product of this system, but it's not like any random player can fill the role that he has.

the only thing that irks me about this is that kawhi isn't even 24 hours into getting FMVP and this kinda **** is being talked about. KD's got his opinions, fine. But keep your **** mouth shut about it, especially on twitter where everyoooooooooooooooooooooone can see.

I know this kinda talk don't phase K at all but still, way to put a **** downer on what should be a great day for him.

Kawhi's seemingly unfazed with the praise and the hate. The truth is, FMVP could've gone to any one of about 4 Spurs but Kawhi's breakout from Game 3 on is what tipped the scales in his favor.

Product of the system = opinion.

Champion and Finals MVP = fact.

Well, at this moment, I don't think it's a downer for Kawhi to see Durant said that. I mean, you just won a championship, and you hear somewhere that Durant say that, will it really effect your mood today? at all?

This will only effect Kawhi later next season on the first game againts OKC. I'm sure it'll be brought up to Kawhi and he'll mark that game up.

Just another black mark against Durant for me.

Stat padding in blowouts to beat the old MJ streak was just the start, but this is just plain silly and immature.

I'd hate to be Brooks right now. He has no respect from his two stars, no control and no balls to make them change on the court and now he has off court BS to deal with.

Yeah, definitely a bit salty.

Funny thing is, I don't even know if Leonard is a great fit in Pop's system. He isn't the best outside shooter (shoots a respectable % but needs impeccable selection and lots of practice) and he doesn't have passing/vision that Parker/Duncan/Diaw/Ginobili do. Not to mention he'd be getting more minutes and shots on other teams.

He'll have his time though :)

Hey guys, didn't really want to keep this story alive, because I really don't think KD meant anything, but this was from his Facebook page (deleted since):

Eh, he didn't need to run his mouth in the first place. Just be humble and get ready for next season.

He also jacked up shots at the end of the year a few seasons ago to barely take the scoring title from Kobe while he sat for the playoffs, in meaningless games.

That, along with this stuff makes him look like a salty bitch. Congrats guys, anyways on the title

Well, at least for now, so far that's been the case and in the future it's likely to stay that way cuz of karma and cap constrain.
