GT: Spurs vs. Jazz

Post#1 » by Nolan » Mon Dec 8, 2014 9:57 am

When: 9:00 PM ET, December 9, 2014
Where: EnergySolutions Arena, Salt Lake City, UT

Should be another easy one for us, the Jazz have lost 9 in a row but we shouldn't sleep on them. They have a talented young roster that could cause us some problems.

Go Spurs!!

If Patty was playing, it would be the most Aussie's ever in an NBA game (4) I believe.

For any Spurs fans yet to see Joe Ingles play, he was the guy I wanted us to sign a year ago or so. I think he'd be perfect in our system.

He's a pretty good offensive player but man is he an awful defender.

This SHOULD be a no-sweat win.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ingles play again. This isn't the first time I've read peoples' opinions that he would fit well in our system.

Go Spurs!

So Tony's out for this one but with the way Cojo's been playing that shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah that's fair enough. He defended ok internationally and overseas but the whole Jazz are one of the worst defensive teams I've seen.

He's no star or anything, I just think he'd work well here. In an Austin Daye type, limited role. He can hit open threes, is a good passer, can play point forward and reads the game very well (is a veteran, not a young rookie by any means).

Agreed. They're perimeter defense is terrible.

I could see Ingles working in a limited role like you said though. If we let Marco walk he could be a cheap replacement.

Duncan's taking Favors and Kanter to school in the paint.

Baynes is doing some serious work in the paint tonight. Bodies are flying everywhere.

Not our best first quarter but if we tighten up the defense, stop missing easy shots and cut out the turnovers we should run away with this one.

The Jazz are just outworking us right now. Need to up the intensity and do a better job of protecting the paint.

Not a good 2nd quarter. The Jazz murdered us in the paint and we took a lot of bad shots.

Kawhi's been great so far though. Seems like he's getting his hands on everything.

Duncan's also having a solid game.

We're giving up way too many easy buckets.

This game has been so strange. We missed some wide open shots (looking at you Kawhi), but Duncan played great. Losing the rebounding game hurt us pretty bad.

Manu went 3 for 17, goodness and mercy that is awful! I'm kind of tired of no Tiago and Patty.

Gotta give credit to the Jazz though. They shared the ball well and wasn't as selfish as I thought. They hurt us inside. They made timely baskets especially in the 4th quarter when we tried to make our last run. They played with more energy.
