GT: Lakers vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Dec 11, 2014 9:44 pm

When: 9:30 PM ET, December 12, 2014
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

Other than Mills we should have everyone available for this so it should be another easy win for us against the abysmal Lakers.

Go Spurs!!

I don't usually get hyped for December games against lottery teams, but I think I might hate the Lakers more than I LIKE any sports team (other than the Spurs), so I'm excited about this one.

I hope Kobe shoots and shoots and shoots, trying to pass Jordan and ending up 2-for-40 on the night. That would be highly satisfying.

Go Spurs!

That was a strange quarter. Lakers shooting awfully from 2 but unreal from 3. The Lakers are taking a lot of awful forced shots and making them. That'll cool off in the 2nd half. Kobe with 11, still could pass Jordan but unlikely

GOD, I hate it when we let crummy teams hang around... especially when it's the damn Lakers.

VERY impressed with CoJo tonight.

DAMMIT. I can't believe they got us in our own place.

Oh, well. This will be the pinnacle of their miserable season.

Go Spurs!

How has Anderson looked? I haven't seen anything from the last week or so.

Lakers bench outplayed the Spurs bench. That pretty much says it all. Game was meaningless seeing as Leonard wasn't there. It probably would have been a comfortable blowout with him playing tonight. Always going to hurt your team when you replace a Finals MVP's minutes with a horrid Euro player like Belinelli and a green rookie in Anderson.

As far as the two legends tonight:

Kobe looked awful. Chucked a lot of bad shots down the stretch, turned the ball over and was the primary reason for the Spurs comeback. Can't believe a D-League calibre player like Joseph was giving him so much problems. Duncan looked great though. Almost had a 20-20 and had the highest plus-minus on his team. Still one of the most impactful players in the NBA. Too bad the rest of his team didn't show up except Danny.

I don't think it really had much of an effect. This was just a case of Spurs playing down to their competition. They also lost to the Jazz(who were on a ten game losing streak) just four days ago. Not to mention the Brooklyn loss. Thankfully they show up for all the good teams and have dominated those matchups.

He's mostly been a cipher, but that's to be expected. His job at this point is just to gain by osmosis.

Frustrating loss, especially because it was against the Lakers. As much as I hate Kobe Bryant, I'm beginning to hate Nick Young and his obnoxious behavior even more. As I expected, ESPN loves it and has a huge boner for him now. If he acted even half as obnoxious as that in a practice I could see how it would set Bryant off.

This is typical post championship letdown syndrome IMO. Playing down to the competition seems to be a bad habit we are forming. We get up for the good teams (GSW, LAC...etc.) and play down to the not soo good (Utah, LAL, Euro Whatchamacallits ...etc.) I sound like a broken record but its only a December NBA regular season game. If we finish in the top 4 in the West and are healthy we are still in a good position to make a run again in the spring.

It's like Mirror Universe last year, the bad teams are beating us,
