What's Danny Green Worth?

He's set to become a free agent at the end of the year, he's only 27 and he's having his best season by far this year averaging 12.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.3 blocks, and 2.6 three-point makes per game.

After seeing some of the big money deals that got handed out to less than stellar players (Jordan Hill, Nick Young, Alec Burks, etc.) last summer I'm being to think that we might be at risk of losing Danny.

With the way he's played so far this year it's hard not to see him getting at least 9 million plus a year on the open market? What's he worth in your mind? And do you think we should pay the price to keep him around?

With the new TV deal coming up, all the FAs contracts are looking real crazy. So because of that, I'm not really sure what's fair market value for anybody right now... Even Austin Daye.

Without TV deal, I'm guessing he's worth about 6 mil. Basically the MLE. Teams might overpay for him though but I can't see anything that reaches 8 mil. Danny is what Trevor Ariza was after his title year with the Lakers. A 3&D guy off a championship system.

Ariza's a fair comp. But do you think we would retain him for that kind of money?

Yeah, my guess we will be able to retain him for the MLE (whatever that number is come summer) and possibly even add a mil to it. There will be teams that can offer him more money but unless some team offers him twice as much, I think Green will choose to stay.

He knows he's a starter here, especially when Manu retires. There's loyalty factor from the Spurs giving him a chance and all. The system suits him, and from all accounts, everybody loves everybody else in this locker room.

It'd be hard to leave the Spurs unless someone just gives him a crazy amount of money and the Spurs can't even come close to that ball park figure.
