GT: Spurs vs. Wizards

When: 7:00 PM ET, January 13, 2015
Where: Verizon Center, Washington, DC

We handled them quite easily about week ago so hopefully we can repeat that performance.

The key to this is going to be limited the Wizards in transition and keeping Wall out of the paint.

Go Spurs!!

that wasnt easy. Wiz led by 4 after 1, it was tied at the half, SA led by 1 after 3, and it was a 3pt game with just over 4min left until the Spurs pulled away

Yeah your right I was thinking of a different game. Wizards fell apart in that 4th quarter and we just managed to squeak out a win.

well when youve beaten a team a hundred straight times, it tends to feel like their easy.......lol

question. I see coach Bud doing great in Atl. Do you think Don Newman could do the same on my Wiz? Wittman is a brillant defensive mind but our Offensive system is dreadful and we basically look for long 2's

Good question! I think Don deserves a chance at being a head coach. In the east, I like the Wiz and the Hawks both more than any Eastern Conference team.

Bud has been successful because, like the Spurs, he has identified player strengths and developed potential strengths. For instance, Milsap is expected to shoot threes. He shoots nearly 3 a game at nearly 35% accuracy. He took more threes last year than all his years prior combined. Pero Antic can shoot threes as well. I think the only Stretch big on the Wiz is Humphries.

The Wiz don't have a ton of three point shooters; Pierce, Humphries, Wall, Butler, and Beal (by far y'all's best shooter) can shoot. The Spurs have better shooters than both teams; Green, Mills, Daye, Bonner, Leonard (he's been off this year), Diaw, Ginobili, Bellineli, and even Parker/CoJo have been knocking down open threes this year. That's 10/15. We don't even know what Kyle Anderson brings to the table consistently.

What Bud has done in Atlanta is pretty awesome, but it comes down to the players. Bud has identified player strengths and he holds them accountable. If they step out of their lane they go to the bench.

The Wiz will always have a chance with a healthy John Wall, but if there was more of a "system" in place they'd be better. I agree it goes back to the coaching staff. I don't know if Wittman values the three enough. It's scary to think what Wall could do with the court opened up by three point shooters. Imagine Wall with a small ball lineup of Diaw/Kawhi/Green/Mills, SCARY!

Wiz shot 50% and we shot 33%, I'll take down 3. Patty is on fire today! Splitter was frustrating to watch, missing layups and free throws.

John Wall = good.

Also, was watching on NBA TV and it must be the Wiz announcers because they are serious homers. I'm switching to league pass to get away from them. That play where Beal wasn't touched and got the foul on CoJo then they said "Good call", come on!

We're tracking with 'em... Errors is doing some nice things, at least from what I've seen. Up one, six minutes to go.

Well, that's the game.

My word... I've only seen the last eight minutes of gametime, but from what I've seen, there's no way the Spurs should have been in this game at ALL.

Another night of bad second half rotations from Pop. Another terrible 4th quarter. Another loss.

Ha ha... no, I don't, though I probably should.

I actually picked that joke up from one of the guys here... can't remember who, though.
