Looking Ahead, If we continue to play like crap.....

We have 2 more winnable road games on this trip, then come home for 6 straight. I'm still hopeful we have a little bit of a run left in us but if for whatever reason we continue down this path to the playoffs (falling completely out is unlikely but not impossible the way we are playing), I'm looking ahead a bit.

I know its still a little early but I think if I had my choice I would rather fall to the 8th spot and play the Warriors in the first round rather than remain 7th and deal with Memphis. Either way isn't going to make a difference the way we are playing right now but I think this team has earned the right to hold out hope that they will get it together sooner or later. If we are playing better come playoff time I just believe GS will have a much harder time dealing with us than Memphis will, not to mention the gigantic pressure the Warriors will be under at that time.

With all that said I still think it might be a good thing that we are a little embarrassed right now. This team needs something to rally around.

Didn't Conley say that we have their number?

We really need to win these last two and build some momentum going into the home stand. We're still in decent shape, but we need to start turning things around if we wanna even think about repeating.

TP: “On our team, when we win it’s us and when we lose it’s us. We’re not going to pinpoint anybody individually. It’s us as a team. Obviously, I have a big part of that. I have to do my part. I know it. I’ve struggled before, but never like that. I think it’s my worst three-game stretch, but hopefully I’ll get it back. The last 10 games was great for me. I was looking great and making some positive strides in the right direction up to the All-Star break. Those three games (since) just … weird.”

Well, if I have to choose, I'll choose Warriors over Memphis.

Warriors play a faster pace game and the hope is that if we can slow them down (and playoff games always slow down), we can atleast get them out of their comfort zone a little. Memphis already plays a playoff type of game in terms of pace. And with Parker not being himself, I don't know if we'll be able to push the pace either.

Also perimeter defense, with Tony Allen and Conley, along with Parker's current level of play, he's gonna get completely shutdown. We have a better chance of having Parker breakout games againts Warriors.

No matter what, if we want any chance on getting past these guys, Parker has to atleast play like a decent starting caliber PG and hope that we have different guys show up every game to make up for Parker. But if Parker gets completely shutdown, we're doomed. It'll be a sweep. He's still the head of the snake.

Plus we have no shot at containing Marc Gasol.

There's really no easier team than another in the West playoffs. It doesn't matter who we play or what round, we just need to get our act together and come into the post season in good form.
