GT: Spurs vs. Clippers

Post#1 » by Nolan » Mon Feb 15, 2016 5:03 pm

When: 10:30 PM ET, February 18, 2016
Where: STAPLES Center, Los Angeles, CA

Should be a good start to our post All-Star schedule. Duncan and Parker should both be healthy for this one and we're going to need them for it.

Go Spurs!!

Another game I just want to forget about. Starting to be too many of them. This team is weak as hell I'm afraid, and they DO NOT take care of the basketball at all. Frustrating to watch and I'm getting tired of it.....

Just a different team w/out Kawhi.

Hard to judge when there's no Kawhi but I agree to a point about the weak comment.

Sometimes our greatest strengths can be just as much a weakness, because while we are all smiles and playing happy team ball, we don't seem to have a fire or killer instinct because of it.

Again, it's fine when it works. And it has throughout the regular season so far, but will it be enough?

I was watching the interview with Kawhi at the All Star game and how he was talking about not showing emotion, specifically after big dunks and that game winner at Orlando and started to wonder if things like that were what the team was missing at times. I think actually getting excited and showing some fire and emotion is what the team lacks at times.

I hear you, it just gets frustrating. Yes we didn't have Kawhi but they didn't have Griffin either and we don't need Kawhi to do a simple thing like take care of the basketball and stop with the needless turnovers.

I cant put my finger on it but there is something wrong with this team. Maybe we are just coasting and waiting for the playoffs. Yes we have a great record but its because the league as a whole is terrible. Golden State and OKC are far better teams than we are right now and the Clippers and Caviliers are a problem because they seem to want to beat us a lot more than we want to beat them.

I know its just the regular season but I don't see anyone on this team trying to turn things around when things go bad. I do remember us in one of our recent championship runs having a bad record against the better teams in the league but that team at least competed in those games. When things go wrong for this team we just roll over and get jail sexed it seems.

3 years ago if we were playing poorly, Tony Parker would turn up his game and steal wins for us. 2 years ago Patty Mills was doing it. Last year a couple of guys (Kawhi, Manu, Timmy) would step up here and there. This year Kawhi is playing great but I have yet to see anyone at all step up their game when we are playing poorly. Not anyone.

Again I know its just the regular season but I'm concerned about this team. Its reminding me too much of last years team where we kept waiting for them to just turn it around against a lesser team like the Clippers and it never happened.

With or without Kawhi that was a sad performance and we threw away a winable game with carless defense and poor shot selection.
