GT: Spurs vs. Rockets

Post#1 » by Nolan » Sat Feb 27, 2016 5:16 pm

When: 6:00 PM MT Feb. 27th 2016
Where: Toyota Center, Houston TX

Last game of the rodeo road trip and it comes against an opponent that has really been turning it on as of late. Harden's been on fire over the last couple games so stopping him is going to be the key to winning this one.

Go Spurs!!

Look for Simmons to get a lot of minutes I think. He is best when defending ball dominate players like Harden and Pop has suggested he wants him to be a potential go to defender.

Shut down Harden and we win comfortably.

Well I was wrong about Simmons but still have this one under control.

Have to laugh to the start of the 4th, Harden with another joke of a drive and drawn foul and West just screams 'oh my god'.

edit: 50-9 now.

A few lapses to start the 4th but overall a decent job.

I think I saw both Parker and Duncan walk over to Aldridge late in the 4th and asked what the hell he was doing with pump fake after pump fake under the rim when he had an open gimme. (and then missed after the 4th fake).

Good win. Houston made a run in the 4th but we did a pretty okay job of holding them off (our transition D was lousy).

Kawhi was unstoppable once again and LMA and Duncan were solid on both ends. We had some ugly turnovers but overall I liked the look of the offense. We moved the ball with purpose and did a great job of exploiting the Rockets mistakes. And on the defensive end we did a job of containing Harden and keeping a body on D12 at all times, the transition defense was sloppy at times like I mentioned early but overall a very solid performance against a dangerous offensive team.
