http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--andre-miller-spurs-002646280.htmlGreat news imo. Without him even playing a minute, he'll be a great addition with his knowledge and experience. He played a couple seasons with Aldridge as well so that can't hurt.
But I think he can still provide very solid contributions when called upon.
I actually had him on the list of wanted players in our free agency thread before the season so really happy with this.

Does this mean Ray McCallum going back to Austin? I hope not, I was pulling for him.. Butler and Simmons are playing meaningful minutes. I'd rather lose the Red Mamba to be honest.....

I'm sure it'll be Bonner that gets cut. Wouldn't make sense for anyone else really.

why didnt they release bonner? is it due to his salary or fearing a contender picking up bonner?

Really shocked at that.
I mean, I see Miller getting more playoff minutes than McCallum but thought Spurs liked him and see him as a keeper.

I really hope this turns into a Danny Green like situation for McCallum and we get him back in the offseason. Really like him as player.

I doubt I would be worried at all if another contender picked up Bonner LOL. I would actually prefer that happened.

McCallum was playing ok. Bonner has done absolutely nothing for us for 2 years. He can't even hit open 3 pointers anymore.

Bonner is the secret weapon against the Warriors. Starts at centre and launches 10+ threes

Launches 10 threes, rattles in 1 to go 1/10. His stat line is 3 pts. 0 reb. 0 ast. 4 fouls. Signs 3 year extension after game.

Maybe they wanted Timmy to feel a bit younger.
He looked okay last night, the guys still got game but I just don't see where he fits in.

Agreed. If he is using it as a springboard to coaching, why not just hire him as another assistant coach instead and keep around a young player like McCallum that could help us in the future? Lord knows the NBA has more assistant coaches than players now anyway.

I think it was a decision to do everything possible to win this year. As old as Miller is and as much potential as McCallum has, I still see Miller playing more valuable minutes in a run this season so why not.
It could also mean we have our eye on another PG next year or just didn't see McCallum as a long term fit.
