GT: Grizzlies vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Mar 24, 2016 1:11 pm

When: 6:30 PM MT Mar. 25th 2016
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio TX

It's not official yet but I doubt Kawhi play's in this one after that quad contusion that forced him to leave the game last night.

I know the Grizzlies are in bad shape but we can't sleep on them.

Go Spurs!!

Martin and Anderson starting.

Just like I suggested the other day, rest Green, give Martin a go, you've got nothing to lose.

edit: Nice, even with the new lineup the ball movement looks great! Duncan inside, kick out to Martin and swish for 3! Haven't seen that much this year. Then Duncan drives in and kicks out to LMA for a long two.

Are we watching a Spurs game?

Andre Miller fast break. hand of to Aldridge for the slam.

Next play, Kevin Martin drive and score.

LMA with 17 in the quarter.

Ugh, 4 point game going into the 4th. The defense has been horrible, lazy and disinterested.

Martin's 3 seals it. He looked a bit lost at times but imo a lot more dangerous than Danny. A lot.

Obviously he can't defend but we'll see what we need each game I guess.

Nice to see Simmons back and showing he can still play when called upon.

I still don't like Anderson. He brings nothing until he can knock down open threes because you don't need to guard a guy that is looking to pass whenever he gets the ball.

he looks like he is afraid of touching the ball, and when he is off the ball he just looks too loose, running around kind of aimlessly.
Travis Outlaw: Oh man. That feels great. To have a bobblehead of me is just terrific.

He passes up soo many wide open threes which then forces others into taking bad shots because of the shot clock. Pop is up his ass all the time about this.
I'm not comparing him to Kawhi, but the 3 years ago Leonard was doing the same types of things. It was like pulling teeth to get him to shoot an open shot. Hopefully he figures it out soon.

I think he can knock em down but he just has that PG mentality burned into his brain.

Wasn't our best performance on the defensive end but we took care of business without our best player. LMA was massive and Martin had a nice game as well.

That's a good point. That plus him being young and maybe not wanting to feel selfish taking a shot with the other big names around him, but he needs to understand how it hurts the team to be a pass first, pass second, pass third and only shoot if you are wide wide open guy. Even then, he seems to drive to the hoop and in the middle of a layup still thinking pass, he's missed a few point blank possibly because he wasn't committed to actually taking the shot.

On another point, how solid is Miller?! He isn't going to set the game on fire but he really has given us something the young guys just couldn't and really settles the team down I think.

which is kind of odd considering he's almost 6-10 and doesnt have the greatest handle.

but dont get me wrong i am not down on him, i think he could be a really good player once he gets his confidence going.

It is odd but he's basically been a PG up until we drafted him.

That's definitely an issue, Diaw had that issue when he first came here, and I guess at times he's still guilty of it. I have faith in Anderson though, he's come so far so I don't see why he won't keep improving.

Definitely agree with you about Miller. I wasn't a fan of that move but boy was I wrong, that steady hand has really helped us out.
