Pao Gasol

With the Bulls falling into the toilet Pao Gasol could be available again this summer. We were one of the finalists to land him before he chose Chicago. I know he's pretty old but for a season or two playing the 5 for us and keeping LMA at the 4 would look pretty nice. Especially if Timmy rides into the sunset.

If Timmy and/or West retire he'd be a great addition. He's never really been a stellar defender but Pop's could definitely figure out a way to utilize such a skilled big man.

West left 11 million on the table, he is not going to retire. He will play a few more years.

If Duncan retires he would be an excellent replacement.

He still wants to stay relevant, he'll probably ask for at least 24 minutes per game.

His PNR defense is among the worst in the league but is a pretty good defender otherwhise.

DON'T DO IT.

Pau is too old. Spurs need more youth, not another old body to replace an old body.

Go younger.

I would welcome him with open arms if he was 3-4 years younger. Gotta get younger. Look for Joakim Noah, Al Horford, or heck even Dwig... I wont dare to finish that.

I'd take Dwight for a discounted contract. Yeah he is a cancer from all reports but the team and staff won't allow that to fly and he might just toe the line. I'd take him over Whiteside who appears more of an on court brain explosion waiting to happen.

Next to Aldridge and just being able to focus on protecting the rim and rebounding he could excel, but I assume someone is going to overpay him and he will take it with his ten kids' worth of child support or whatever.

I think Dwight is a fine option. I dont event think he is a cancer. Last few years, he was playing with Kobe and Harden. He wants touch, which he did not get playing with Kobe and Harden.

Dwight wants to play. He has his flaws but I am sure Pop will able to help.

Dwight would be awesome if he takes less than max and plays PnR. If he still thinks he can be Hakeem, it's not gonna happen.

I agree we need to go younger but there may be no one younger available. Biyambo is playing himself out of our price range right now and everyone is going to have money to throw around at people. Sure we have our history of winning here over everyone else but young guys are looking for the cash. Its the older players who want to win......

Dwight Howard is interesting. And this is coming from a guy who wouldn't pee on Howard if he was on fire because I dislike him soo much. However, if he could somehow convince Buford and Pop that he would listen to direction here it might be something to think about.

So Woj and Mannix were talking about Gasol and us on their podcast earlier this week. Sounds like there's a strong possibility that he's going to sign with us.

I like it is as long as he's not the only big we sign. We need someone younger and more athletic.

Looks like a done deal.

I didn't like it at first but at the end of the day it's an upgrade over West.

Hope we get more out of him than most expect.
