GT: Spurs vs. Warriors

When: 8:30 PM MT Apr. 7th 2016
Where: Oracle Arena, Oakland CA

If the we play everyone minus Boris this could be an interesting one. Warriors are still chasing the record and a win for us would be a massive confidence boost for us heading into the playoffs.

Go Spurs!!

Also, without Boris I wonder if we use that Kawhi Slo-mo forward combo more. I feel like it will work really well on both ends against the Warriors.

Time for West to make a difference IMO, but we will miss Boris. He is more important to this team than people realize. LMA and Kawhi have been studs lately so the Warriors will have to figure that out.

Why does our offense go all stupid all of a sudden? Move the ball and take a good shot, its not hard. The Warriors are doing nothing to stop us, we are being dumb.

Why are the regulars even playing if no one is going to show up and play basketball anyway???? Just put the scrubs in and get it over with. This is embarrassing...

I don't even care if we won this game or not. The fact that we don't even compete with them pisses me off.
I hate to say it also because of such a successful season but David West doesn't do jack-squat for us. Ive been quiet about it all year hoping that his role would increase and he would play better come playoff time but Ive had about enough of him doing almost nothing for us. Diaw is 10x the player West is for this team. I hope I'm wrong about that but it doesn't look that way.

The Warriors aren't even playing good defense. We are just taking poor shots and playing tentative again offensively. Defense hasn't been too bad except for a couple breakdowns here and there. 40 points at the half is just embarrassing.

Pathetic effort. This game is over.....

Yeah just never seemed in this. Didn't come out with the same intensity and didn't control the pace or look anything like the team that won the last meeting.

No cause for major concerns, but we have work to do.

We need Diaw against them that's for sure.

Well we played solid defense in the first quarter but after that things went straight down the toilet. Offense was trash and the transition defense broke down. Don't understand why we started crashing the offensive glass in the 2nd rather than getting back.

Hope that finger doesn't cause LMA too many problems.

Also I thought Slo-Mo had a great game, would like to see more of him and Kawhi playing together. Except, i'd like too see more of Kawhi at the 4 and Slo-Mo at the 3.

Green looked decent as well. 3-6 from three and he made some excellent plays on the other end.

Spurs may win at home. Beating the W's at Oracle? You'd be better off if so "average" they don't much pay attention. GSW has to see the Spurs + Cavs as THE real threat. That kicks in the Turbo mode. Spurs were a step slow. The Vets were not handling the pace. In San Antone.. the Spurs may win but...in the PLAYOFFS.... the Warriors will have HOME edge and be full focus.

Right now....I see analyst say the SPURS are THE challenge. Cavs? less so. You look at "how many have you lost" and GSW is still single digits after blowing 2 games. Relatively... Cavs lost quite a few more. Games ain't played on paper so...who can guess?

Anderson did actually play well. Was surprised to see him given the ball up high a bit towards the end and try to back down and work on small defenders. Almost Diaw like in what they were attempting.

I thought Green looked good defensively too.

Martin is instant offense and will play a role if we go far.

I think Duncan simply too slow to play minutes against the Warriors and is a bad matchup so we definitely need Diaw playing well to beat this team.

Sad, I'd admired Duncan since he was a rising Star at Wake Forest. Had he declared, GSW would have drafted him, not Joe Smith at #1. That would have been a changer. Indeed.. he's lost quickness. GSW is real good at exploiting that. Nobody can last forever.

While I agree Martin can score, I did not want him based on bad D. Who will he guard?

In saying that, Duncan would be my first choice of a starter against, I think every other possible playoff matchup, just not the Warriors.

Martin, well it doesn't matter who he guards. I'd only want him off the bench to score some points if needed.

I think Spurs at their best though, really shouldn't need him. And the play by Simmons tonight was impressive. He is quick and active on D, can drive to the hoop so well, almost at will. I know he isn't exactly young, but he has drives that most vets don't. He just needs a better jumper and he could be a super sub (or starter on some teams).
