Durant also is widely expected to take a handful of face-to-face recruiting meetings with a select group of interested teams, with the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs regarded by many rival executives as the two biggest threats to lure Durant away from the Thunder.

Good to hear that there's actually some truth to all these rumblings we've been hearing over the last couple months. Still not sure if he's serious about leaving OKC but getting him in a room is huge for us hopefully we can talk him into signing.

if u the spurs u give him 1+1 deal, 2nd year a player option...then he can ask spurs for max and longer term deal...

currently the spurs available max slot is not as high like the other teams, unless some players need to go to make way...

Question still is, how can Kawai, KD and LMMA coexist defensively? Kawai plays SG? Or LMMA plays center?

I'm glad we can at least talk to him. It will be a 2 way street if he wants to play here though. Its not going to be "we'll give you whatever you want and then some Kevin" like other teams are going to do. I'm guessing Pop and RCs approach is going to be that "we can make you a better player because you will HAVE to play defense here". "We can win but you don't have to necessarily be the man every night here".

Those are two questions I'm not sure I know about Durant.
A) Does he want to become a better all-round player?
B) Does he want to win without being the "man"?

I think we saw in the playoffs this year that he isn't really the alpha-dog that we all thought he was but that doesn't mean that he still doesn't think it himself. That will probably decide where he winds up.

True, so that means Kawai starts at the 2?

I guess that's possible. So Green will be traded? Or Parker too? (not so sure about the Parker having Duncan status, they were gonna get Kidd)

Position is determined by who you can guard. Kawhi can guard the 1,2, or 3 and some 4's. LMA can guard the 4 or 5 on most nights and KD can guard the 3 and the stretch 4's. The fit will not be a problem if we can get him.

I don't think its that way anymore. He's won 4 championships.

I think it's a case of the Spurs keeping Parker as long as he wants to be here. I'm pretty sure he is wanting to be a Spur for life but the only way he gets traded is if he asks for a new challenge elsewhere.

Ya I know, but rumors have it that they will trade him if KD and/or Conley are willing to sign.

So it sounds the like the prevailing idea around KD is that he's going to sign a 1+1 deal with OKC this summer, and use these meetings with other teams to weigh his option for next summer if Russ decides to leave as well.
