2nd year in a PO, would of rather had that as a team option but decent addition anyways.

Suns fan here. Love this signing for you guys. If Duncan does decide to retire, a front court of Aldridge and Gasol is still pretty damn good.

We'll see. Can't really get too hyped because i'm sad hearing all these reports on Timmy calling it a career. But it should be a good addition.

I'm liking this less with the news that Duncan is leaning towards retirement. Gasol would of been a nice 3rd big behind LMA and Duncan but if Duncan's out of the picture I worry about our interior D. Kawhi can only do so much.

I agree with Nolan. I like the signing regardless but having Timmy back makes it look much better. We still need another front line player. Please don't let David West come back....

I do love that Gasol is aboard though. He's smart, he cares and he tries to make other players better. Should be a perfect fit.

Yeah he's definitely a Spur but just not exactly what we need right now. If this is all we plan on doing LMA really needs to step up on the defensive end, he looked pretty good at times on that end but he's going to need to bring it consistently.

spurs need another legitimate big with west now gone and diaw likely to be traded to make cap space to sign pau
if duncan is retiring and diaw is traded, the spurs might as well look at getting rid of parker, if they wont show loyalty to ginoboli by re-signing him for 1 more year, they why should they stick with porker riding out his 2yrs contract remaining who has been the weakest link in the spurs system for the last 2 playoff runs....
u say u wont get equal value or production if u trade porker for another pg, another pg is still better then a pg who still thinks its his team, goes hero mode, wont pass t he ball to the hot hand, plays no lick of defense when his offense game isnt on, cant hide him on defense on anyone....
spurs management is going to waste kawhis/lma years with porker still on the team...yes with the recent moves b y gsw the spurs are just fodder making up the numbers, but how can u move forward if ur continuing to hold onto the pass dont wanting change for forward? already wasted duncans finest years with an incompetent pg, now u going to repeat the same mistake with kawhi/lma

Parker is a hall of famer and Duncan's finest years were not wasted. Sorry for winning rings I guess.
You have a personal hate for Parker and can't articulate how replacing him benefits the team.

Yeah, I'm not going to quote what you said UDRIH14 because much of it makes no sense. We all know your hate for Parker but really, he just needs to play a bit less minutes. He's won 4 championships for us. We aren't going to just dump him. Did parker sleep with your sister or something? We haven't shown loyalty to Ginobili? How on earth is that? Winning championships is wasting Tim Duncan's career? Really?

Pau should have the major minutes if Duncan stays, but hope that he would be the starter due to respect. Pau had problems in the past on Lakers and Bulls about being on the bench, but well, isn't the same to be benched by Timmy than by Earl Clark or Noah (who is a really great player but not at Gasol's level).
Duncan -18min.
Pau - 30 min
Pau plays always on the end of the games...but TD comes in when we need his defender to close the game

I like Pau and have no doubt he'll fit in great. I just hope we can keep up the defense if Timmy goes.
Honestly i think we all would have liked him to sign a couple years previous but nevermind.

Totally agree. I really do like Gasol but if he's going to be our main man in the middle we're going to have issues defensively.

I'm sure the Spurs have noticed that he rarely plays a full season also. Even healthy here is is going to sit or get some Pop DNP-Old's. Who is going to be our front line on those nights? We still need to make a move I think.

I think the Spurs finally see Kyle as a smallball PF judging by summer league. It's about time Kyle gets consistent minutes and he'll help the team in playmaking with Parker and Manu currently our only play makers and they're getting too old.
What we need right now is Duncan back because either Pau or Duncan needs to be that Center on the 2nd unit. Last year the big man unit of West and Diaw was too short.
