Training camps underway as of Monday and our first preseason game goes down on October 3rd against the Suns.
Training camp roster:
Preseason schedule:

The battle for that 15th spot is going to be an interesting one if we actually choose to carry 15 players. Who do you guys see making the final cut?

I just don't see Jean-Charles making this NBA roster. He didn't impress me at all in the summer league. I think he will make the 15 man roster and play in Austin or go back overseas.
Barring injuries, I see the regular season roster as:
Parker, Mills, Murray
Green, Ginobili, Simmons
Leonard, Anderson
Aldridge, Lee
Gasol, Dedmon
The only big decision Pop will need to make is keeping Murray vs Bertans I think. Murray, although a rookie looks more NBA ready but we haven't seen enough of Bertans. Camp should sort this out.

We'll be keeping both Murray and Bertans, we have room for both and Jean-Charles is signed to a guaranteed deal so I can't see us cutting him either.
The way I look at it the for sures are:
PG- Parker, Mills, Murray
SG - Green, Manu, Simmons
SF - Kawhi, Anderson, Bertans
PF - LMA, Lee, Jean-Charles
C - Gasol, Dedmon
That leaves us with one spot to fill if we want too. And if we do carry that 15th player it'll interesting to see who we go with. Another big would make sense but if we're okay with Bertans and Anderson playing minutes at the four we could look to keep another PG as insurance.

Well Richards is done. Not all that surprising either.

Pop talked a little bit about the roster yesterday. I really like what he is saying about David Lee here:

Game rosters are now 13 instead of 12 right?
I'd be upset if Murray and Bertans weren't regulars.

You're right, both of them aren't going to fit if rosters are 12.

So Pau Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green, Patty Mills, and Tony Parker will all be sitting out the first preseason game. Looks like we're going to get some good looks at the youngsters in the first game.

By the way, I don't know if you guys have access to the game tonight, but if you are looking for a stream it will be streaming on suns.com.
If there isn't much discussion here or only a couple of you around watching and wanting to discuss, feel free to comment on our game thread in the Suns forum. It should be interesting to watch so many younger players. I'm hoping the Suns play their rookies quite a bit. Bender and Chriss looked good on Saturday in a scrimmage.
Here it is...

Only caught a few minutes of the game and seen a bunch of highlights. But from what I saw I was really impressed with Bertans, kid looks like a complete player. Murray was impressive as well, kids so good at getting to rim and finishing once he's there. Anthony also impressed me as well, gave it 100% out there and really made a difference on the defensive end.

I was watching the game at 5am in my time, watched the full game because of Bertans, and I was concerned a little bit at the beginning, cause it look like he was not himself in a first half, first turnover in like 12 seconds, then offensive foul, then bad pass turnover, another offensive foul for moving screen, then at least he blocked Bender and got subbed... In the second half he looked a lot a lot better... hit two jumpers, the other one was very difficult imo, but as a spectator Dedmon looked lost in the court, I hope he step up his game, LJC can't stop fouling even at the easiest situation and the national champ Arci need to be cut with Forbes and Joel Anthony asap, cause Forbes was so selfish in the court how many shots did he shoot in the game, I counted like 3 or 4 times when he drived he missed a wide open man in the corner for three... About both guys from Argentine I noticed only Garino, cause he was pretty good defender and on offense he moved really well without the ball, finding places on the court for open shots. That's my take on young Spurs this game, yeah and from all new guys I have to say Bertans was impressive (not because I'm Latvian tho, but he looked like that lol) and I know he can do a lot better than that, he was a top guy in the TOP 4 team in Europe last season.... then 2nd was Murray and Garino close third.

Yeah Dedmon definitely looked lost. But it is only preseason, hopefuly he progresses. LJC is definitely a work in progress, he's going to spend a lot of time in Austin and I'm honestly still confused by us bringing him over this year. Kid's still a ways away. Really like Garino as well; moves his feet well, plays smart and just looks like a NBA player hopefully we keep him around. And as Bertans yeah he got off to a shaky start but like I said earlier I was really impressed with the flashes that he showed. He could be a serious X-factor for us this year.

Yeah LJC needed to atleast play one more season in Europe then maybe come try to get in Spurs organization, or maybe it will be better for him to be in Austin, if you ask me Hanga is the one of the closest ready Spurs stash prospect, he like Bertans played in TOP 4 european team and contributed really good... will be fun to see this year how he does in the Spanish league as one of the team leaders, cause that Baskonia team lost half of the players, and they acquired the former NBA players like Bargnani, Beaubois, Shane Larkin. And obviously will be fun to see how his native country Hungary will do in European championship next year, cause he by himself with his game, made possible for his team to qualify in that tournament.

If Hanga can improve his jumper (which he's capable of) I could see him being a solid NBA player.
Would actually like to see De Colo back with us as well. He's really blossomed since going to Russia.

By winning Euroleague MVP and finals MVP, De Colo last season proved that he is right now TOP 2 player in Europe with Teodosic, in my opinion almost all NBA teams would love to get him, and as always I would love to see how Teodosic would do in the NBA, cause he is maestro with bball.
Edit: To be honest next years draft there is a LOT of potential Euro stash guys, who can be stars in future, I will not be suprised if Spurs take some next year, one of the best generation in Europe basketball for quiet some time, starting with Greek Freak, Porzingis, Hezonja and Bender, there is a lot of great talent from Europe in next few years, who will be selected in draft.

Really like the addition of Bertans, I see in him a Gary Neal type deadly shooter ...but more complete, and obviously they play at different positions but it's a guy that you can bring and hit 2 or 3 shots and Change the game...
