GT: Spurs vs. Jazz

When: 7:00 PM MT Nov 4th 2016
Where: Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City UT

It's time to avenge our first loss of the season. The team should be well rested and ready for this one.

To win this win we're going to have to do a better job of closing out on shooters and we just need to play with more of a sense of urgency.

Go Spurs!!

When is Danny Green coming back?

I'd like to know if Popovich tells Parker to be more aggressive on both sides of the floor (because, to me, he is missing in both). Don't know if you guys catched it but Tony logged 33 minutes last game...

here's a lil last-game-stat-line comparison between Mills and him:

STARTERS MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
T. Parker 33 3-5 0-0 0-1 0 3 3 6 0 0 1 3 -9 6
P. Mills 15 4-8 0-4 0-0 1 0 1 2 1 0 1 1 -3 8

Maybe see more Patty-time?

Also, I liked Simmons as a starter.

Hope the Spurs find their shooting this time hehe

If the three week time table is still accurate he should be back in about a week.

Parker is having knee soreness which isnt a good sign. Don't expect him to be very aggressive.

Parker won't be playing.

It's time to cut Manu's time in half. And accelerate Murray's development with Parker out/struggling and Manu looking like he should have retired.

Pop should know by now that it doesn't matter where you finish in the West and that we are going to need youth and athleticism come playoff time so I don't see why not give Murray a chance.

Remember I wonky like game 5 of 82 hahaha, I'm sure Popovich will transition everybody but they have to learn it all and also see it "in real life", etc...

I do believe many should play a little less? Or maybe sub him more and try to manage his time on-court more?

We'll see.

Any thoughts on the score? I do think Spurs will want revenge

Sucks that Tony's not right but Lapro has shown that he's a pretty decent backup so i'm not all that worried.

I like having Mills in the starting lineup and I don't think the drop from Tony to Lap is that great right now. As for the comment about accelerating Murray's development, I'm all for it but, it has to happen in the D league first. IF we throw him in here now and he gets crushed he could lose confidence and stunt his development. I expect him to be ready to contribute some later this season and significantly next season.

Yup. I think we will have a couple of years of great games! I know that Snyder takes after Pops, who I think is the greatest coach, atleast since Phil Jackson, maybe even better than him. Anyways, even though some fools have the Spurs fight for first round HCA, I like them as the best or 2nd best team in the West, definitely contenders. If I had to put money on a healthy Warriors or Spurs team, I'd be torn, but I think that in a 7 game series that Pops could easily find a way to exploit them like the Cavs did. Anyways, the first game was great, I expect nothing less of this game.

Consider me in the minority as I'm not as optimistic about the Spurs in 2016-7 minus Duncan. Regardless, tonight the Spurs aren't playing the Warriors. They're playing the promising Jazz, a team who bested them in SA just a few nights ago. Hopefully for Spurs fans, we'll see some 'nasty' tonight.

100% with you on all points.

We've gotta bring Murray along slowly unless he proves that he's ready, can't just throw him in there. It's not like we really really need him right now.

Certainly is for Utah. Knocking you guys off once can be seen as just one game, fluke kind of thing. Knocking you off twice in one week puts us on the map as a team to look out for.

Anyway, can't wish you guys luck on the game tonight, but I will wish you luck on the season. I'll definitely be rooting for the spurs to come out of the west if it comes down to you and GS.

I disagree on Murray. Right now, regular season, sure we don't need him. But we've seen over the last two post seasons how much the competition steps up and how big a liability Parker (and even Manu) have been when running the point.

Offense has been horrible to start the game because Anderson is so slow and refuses to even pretend to shoot.

As soon as he comes out, Kawhi takes over, Simmons is a threat and great to see Bertans in such an early rotation as well.

Mills looking great yet again and Kawhi just so intelligent now in getting to the line.

edit: Game over heading into the 4th and we really haven't played that well. Leonard took over and Mills was automatic but the rest not so impressive.

Have to say, I never thought I'd see a David Lee high post alley-oop to Dedmon. Very nice.

Also, Leonard now 53-55 from the free throw line on the season.

Man, Murray is still 2 years away of being a decent player. Even more inmature (bb wise) than Tony Parker in 2001. He's still needs to work in a lot of things: body, finishing, shooting, bb iq. He's 19/20, let's take it easy.
