Gameday Thread: Spurs at Hornets

When: 6PM CT/7PM ET, Wednesday, 23 Nov 2016
Where: Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte, NC
11-3 and on a six-game winning streak, but the eye-test tells us that there's still a lot of work to be done, so this will be a challenge. The Hornets are playing nice ball this season and are gunning for a top-four EC playoff spot. I'm looking for a big game from Walker, who's had a breakout season and is likely to see a lot of Green on defense. We'll need to show the humility and respect Pop lamented we lacked in the Dallas game if we want to steal one on the road and extend this streak.

This is gonna be a tough one. The Hornets have been playing some great team ball so far this year and like Sammy said they look like a legit top 4 team in the east.
If we want to win this one we need to play with more of sense of urgency. Everyone needs to step up, we can't just rely on either Kawhi or LMA to carry us.
Go Spurs!1

Shame. I've been wanting to see more of him lately, specially on defense

Me too. I really want to see him starting to get consistent minutes, like at least 20 minutes a night.

I'm rooting for an ugly game with scores in the 70s.

I rooting for a clinical blowout (no offense Hornets fans). Really hope Pop's little speech lights a fire under the team.

I'll settle for either, but i do want to see us get a little nasty with a good team.

That would actually be nice to see as well.

Ginobili looks done. Kawhi goes to the bench and the team falls apart.

Doug Collins is exactly right. If this team is going to contend for anything at all, Tony Parker has to play well. There is just no other way because of how this team is built.

I know I'm nitpicking, and Tony had it going, but I'm a bit worried that Kawhi didn't hardly touch the ball in those last few possessions.

A nice gut-it-out win, but I must concur that the last handful of possessions had more to do with things going our way than it did with brilliant execution.
Still, we've got some great momentum going and getting this W against a quality team in their place is always good for a confidence surge.

Welcome back Danny Green !
Defensively he's stepped it up even more this season. Doesn't hurt that his shooting has improved either

Quick thoughts;
- Kawhi great again and then wasted at times thanks to Parker not looking for him
- Bertans can play and I've said it a few times this year that he is also trying on defended with his blocks
- Glad Anderson is out of the rotation
- Manu really is done
- Although Simmons hasn't been scoring lately he has actually looked a lot more intelligent and unselfish, making good decisions and finding others
- our team defends is horrible

Yea I'm being far too critical. It really was a great win

does anyone enjoy lma going up weak against smaller players with jumpers that end up bricking, yet every time i see this clown shoots there is nobody crashing the boards....especially when u see kawhi setting the screen down low to release lma open then kawhi doesnt stay under the key but continues to run to the 3pt baseline only to see lma throw up a brick with no one going for the offensive rebound....
