GT: Spurs vs. Bucks

When: 6:00 PM MT Dec 5th 2016
Where: BMO Harris Bradley Center, Milwaukee WI
I feel like this is going to be a tough one for us. The Bucks are long athletic team that are going to give us problems on both ends.
Containing Giannis is going to be the key to this one and that's a very very tough thing to do.
Go Spurs!!

Definitely going to be a challenge. We need defense first Kawhi tonight. Might be a good game for Aldridge to get 20+ shots.

I've been so busy this season that I haven't had time to watch nearly as much basketball as I'd like, so I'm going to try really hard to catch this one, because Giannis is a fascinating player and I've not gotten to see him run yet this year. Milwaukee hasn't looked great this year, but they're at home and Kawhi will likely get the Giannis assignment, which means he could be tapped for energy on the offensive end. The rest of the good guys need to make scoring a true team effort in order to steal this one.

Agreed. Kawhi's definitely going to have his hands full tonight. Like inDe_eD said we need LMA in this one.
I'm clearing my schedule to see this one for similar reasons.

Absolutely embarrassing.
We need a trade/s.
Doesn't matter how long in the season to go, this group just doesn't work.

That first half was amongst the worst ive seen in a while, especially that 2nd.
That 3rd in the paint mostly by Dedmon, was just awesome
Giannis is going to be the best player in this league in a couple years

Just as we've had impeccable regular seasons in the past only to end up with an early playoff exit, i really hope this is the year the exact opposite happens.
Yeah, we keep winning with some luck but this team is nowhere near as good as it should be.

THE BAD: Same issues we've had all season; another game where it seems like we played down to the other team; Kawhi looked awful through three quarters...
THE GOOD: ...but he came ALIVE in the 4th! He looked as good as he has in weeks to me; Dedmon was HUGE; it was nice to see us gut one out, and even though we got a little help from Giannis' goaltend and that no-call at the end, the officiating was pretty bad in the first three Qs, so it balances out.

That's two games in a row where Kawhi plays terribly the first three quarters, and then lights it up in the 4th, playing against conventional wisdom, and we win anyway. We were in the bonus with 8 minutes left in the fourth, didn't attack the basket, and Kawhi goes on a jumper killing spree, . I guess he's just awesome like that.

Interesting stat from Dunc'd on, Spurs have a ridiculous "clutch" point differential, like +48 so far this season. Really helps to explain our record, despite the meh play.

We are going to be eaten alive in a series against the top teams in the West. Our defense is pathetic, it really is.
And on offense, we pretty much have one player who can score off the dribble and drive to the hoop (Leonard). Parker doesn't count since he struggles against shot blockers. I think that fact hurts us in making our offense predictable (and disastrous when the ball is in the hand of Green and others).
If I were Pop/RC I would be testing the trade value of Green, Anderson and even Pau.
I know that all sounds exaggerated for a team with a good record and so early in the season but we all know too well how much that means come playoff time.

We get a fair amount of static on the GB for griping so much abut a 17-4 team, but what it really comes down to is that longtime Spurs fans have seen enough to be able to tell the difference between legitimate contenders and regular-season teams, and at this moment, we are most definitely the latter. It's not that we aren't grateful or happy with this season's success, but this team doesn't pass any of the eye tests to survive a seven-game series with the league's other top teams. We'll have to wait and see if they can round into form or if the front-office can orchestrate something.

agree, the first two definitely need to be on the block.
if mills can be consistent with parker out maybe there is hope, but i dont really see this team even getting close to the other top west teams over 7 games.

Totally agree with both of you. Our record's great and we somehow manage to pull off wins like this, but we are flawed deeply right now and we will not make it out of the first round if things don't change.
That being said I think we have the pieces on our roster to turn it around. Pop's needs to get everyone on the same page and make some tweaks to the rotation for the betterment of the team.

And that's just not sustainable.
