REASON IS ..............

He is not even top 50th on DRMP list,and 19th in Small Foward
PLUS DEFENSIVE RATING IS CAREER LOW 105

Real plus minus is not a good indicator of defense, it can be easily skewed and while DRPM is a little more realistic is still isn't bullet proof. The numbers don't look great but if you actually watch him play he's still one of if not the best defensive player in the league.

problem is when his playing on the floor, he is playing with 2 other bad defensive players in pau and parker....also danny green seems to only have good defensive games once every four games....

pop needs to either start dedmon without hurting paus ego, maybe tell him u can have all the offensive touches against the bench coming off the bench...

I wish I had better link saving skills. One of the super smart posters from the player comparison board posted some of the tracking based +/- stats and they love Kawhi this year (I think him and KD are number 1 and 2 in the league). Basically he's doing all the right things, there's just noise in the lineups and guys making shots while Kawhi's on the floor.

He's as good as he's ever been, and like Nolan said, we're still hovering around #1 in the league in defense with Pau and Parker getting significant minutes. That alone is an argument for Kawhi to be the tri-peating DPOY.

And we're number 3 only 0.8 points off from being the best. I don't see how that justifies any of your arguments we still have one of the elite defenses in the NBA.

Defense across the league is down actually. Actually, you might rightly say, offense is up!

But yea, Gobert or Draymond is winning it this year. Kawhi is much more in the running for MVP.
