http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/244649/Pau-Gasol-Out-Indefinitely-With-Broken-Left-HandPau Gasol is out indefinitely with a broken left hand.
Gasol fractured the fourth metacarpal on his left hand during the San Antonio Spurs' pregame warmups on Thursday. Gasol collided with Kyle Anderson and walked off the court grimacing and flexing his left hand.
The Spurs immediately took X-rays at the arena before determining he suffered the fracture.
The Spurs haven't yet determined a timeline for Gasol's return.
I imagine that it's gonna be a bit.
We'll survive without him and this is going to be a perfect chance for Dedmon and Bertans to earn themselves some serious minutes.

We will miss Pau though, I wasn't his biggest fan early in the season but he's rounded into form and has been fitting in well.

Being spanish I can't be objective with him...If we forgot his first 2 months he's being a nice signing...but to be sincere, he won't be missed basically because the Spurs team is fu*** deep. In this team anyone except Kawhi and Green is difficult to replace.

Joel Anthony, Ryan Hollins, Chris Kaman, and DeJuan Blair's names stick out as notable free agents, but I doubt the Spurs want to commit any more rest-of-season money to address a temporary issue.

Anthony on a couple 10-days wouldn't be bad. He was a nice surprise during training camp and he'd be a nice piece to have in case Dedmon and/or LMA get into foul trouble.

I mean, I can't imagine he'd turn down the money. I'm sure he's holding out for something to get him to the end of the season, but I don't see a ton of opportunities for him elsewhere right now, and there's still time for someone to scoop him up for the rest of the year once Gasol's back and the 10-days dry up.

For the most part I think your correct but I really think we'll miss at times. He's been super reliable around the rim and he's one of the best passers we have.

Nurkic? He is on the block and he seems like the type of player Pop likes. IDK, I am not a Spurs or Nugs fan either. It just came to mind.

I doubt we make a deal and I doubt we could make a deal work with the Nuggets... unless they want Kyle Anderson.

Also, this injury will be healed in a month aprox...With the all-star between that should be like a mini vacation for Pau, while Bertans and Dedmon will have more time to develope. So this injury is coming maybe in the best scenario possible, with a healthy and deep roster before the trade deadline...So hopefully we'll be at 100% by April.
Pop also won't force Lamarcus and Lee nor Kawhi, but if our frontcourt becomes short I'm in the Joel Anthony bandwaggon too, he's something still in the tank and knows how LeBron's teams works

Carlos Boozer may get a couple of 10 day contract after his Chinese season ends. The spurs were interested last summer

I hate seeing guys get hurt but this could very well be a blessing. Pau will have plenty of time to get back in game shape for the playoffs and he will be fresh. In the meantime Dedmon and Bertans can continue to get comfortable and Lee can get the minutes he deserves. (fingers crossed Lee doesn't get hurt)

Bertans is a SF not a C.

I don't think he meant Bertans would play center. Just that with Pau out, Bertans has an opportunity for more minutes.

Bertans plays as a stretch 4 in San Antonio. After Gasol's injury, Pop is playing small with Lee and Aldridge and Deadmon + Bertans come off the bench as the main BIGs.
