GT: 76ers vs. Spurs

When: 6:30 PM MT Feb 2nd 2017
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio TX
We've struggled against bad teams this year and the Sixers aren't quite as bad as their record suggests so we have to be careful tonight they could shock us.
The key to this one is not playing down to their level. We're the 2nd best team in the league and we have to play like it. We need to put them away early and get some rest for the starters. The rodeo road trip is just around the corner.
Go Spurs!!

Aldridge should humiliate Okafor in the paint. Kawhi should be able to get whatever he wants. I'm hoping Murray gets some burn in this game and Parker plays low minutes.
Sounds(keyword) like an easy win. But the 76ers can randomly go on a 5 game winning streak with whoever they have out there

They've got talent. 6-4 in their last 10. They're guards are weak but they can definitely hurt us in the paint.

Would've been nice to see Embiid but I guess their FO decided they were winning too much and don't want to make the playoffs just yet.
I expect a 30+ blowout here to be honest.

No Embiid, playing in San Antonio...
...so we should win by 20 and probably will win by 2 in OT.

I can't blame them for sitting him. I'd be crazy cautious with him as well.

We'll be up by 20. They'll bring it down to 10 in the 3rd, and we will bring it back up to 20 to end the game.
My wild-crazy prediction, y'all.

Aldridge is out. Need to change my prediction...
40+ blowout.

Well without Gasol and Aldridge, the offense looks putrid. There are no offensive bigs other than Lee (Bertans is more of a swing forward - stretch type).

If Philly wasn't shooting soo poorly we would be in trouble. But we are playing a little better defensively in the 2nd half.

I think as a team we are second or third in the league in blocks per game and pretty high for steals as well.
But our actual d, suffers from laziness, bad communication and horrible interior cover.

It goes to show why a good defensive player is such a rare and valuable thing; it's almost all effort.
A win is a win, though, and we'll take it, of course. This year's RRT is going to be very revealing.

These are two areas in which we really really really miss Timmy. He knew where everyone was supposed to be and did an amazing job QBing the defense from the paint.
And the communication issues aren't just limited to the defensive end either. I've noticed a ton of miss timed or just flat out unnecessary cuts being made lately. Kawhi will start his drive then someone will cut directly in front of him or LMA will flash to side instead of clearing out.
We've been sabotaging ourselves on both ends over the last 5 or so games because no one seems to either want to communicate or because guys just don't know where they're supposed to be. It's frustrating to watch.

I think the offensive issues you mention come down to Kawhi going iso when there is no play call. The running into players and other players not clearing out is probably a combination of Kawhi still learning his place as the man and perhaps even Pop never having a guy like this before.

Those factors are definitely part of it as well but you still see it happen on plays that clearly designed as Kawhi iso's.
