The San Antonio Spurs were one of several teams who tried to trade for Stanley Johnson with a bargain offer in November after he was suspended by the Detroit Pistons.

Detroit were split in their draft room between Johnson and Devin Booker in 2015.

Johnson has played better over the last six weeks, losing 20 pounds and has worked on his passing.

Not exactly huge news but hey you rarely hear about us being involved in trade talks.

Wonder what exactly our offer was. I'm guessing Anderson had to be involved.

Van Gundy is not crazy. I am not personally high on Johnson, because for all of his physical attributes, he for some reason has been a horrible finisher, in college and the pros. I think the length bothers him and he's going to have to make his mark as a defensive specialist. He's so young, so I could be wrong, but he seems incompetent on the offensive end.

If we could have him for a second round draft pick I might be interested but not anything more.
