GT: Trailblazers vs. Spurs

When: 6:00 PM, Mar 2017
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio TX

Should be another good one tonight against a talented Blazers team that's currently in a fight for the 8th seed in the west.

The key to this one is going to be containing Lillard and CJ. If we can keep those two out of the paint and force them to become high volume scorers we should win this one easily.

Go Spurs!!

LMA cleared to play. Still unsure if he's going to play in this one.

yay...

I'm really happy he's healthy, but tbh I didn't miss him all that much on the court.

Yeah I'm with you. His absence really wasn't all that noticeable sadly.

Let's hope that he uses this recent struggle as a springboard to renewing his commitment to playing all-in for the good guys.

The Nurkic Dedmon matchup should also be interesting. Nurkic has been balling since being traded to Portland, Dedmon has the mobility to stay with him but I'm not if he's strong enough to handle him on the block.

Yes, dealing with Nurkic will be interesting. Also containing Lillard or McCollum. Usually if you can contain one you have them beat. Just don't let them both go off.
As usual, our shot selection will be key as well.

Ive come up with a new Spurs drinking game. Every time someone passes up a wide open shot with a pump fake, you have to take a drink. Every time someone takes a contested fade away mid range shot with less than 5 seconds on the shot clock you must also drink. You will be bombed by the middle of the first quarter......

Aldridge is playing with hustle I haven't seen all year from him. Good sign.

why isnt murry listed for this game, yet forbes continue to get minutes?

why is pop investing time developing in forbes? is he part of the future going forward? isnt he only on 1 yr contract? developing a guy on a 1yr compared to developing murry?

Murray is hurt I believe.

We are taking a bunch of bad shots again and letting their guards and Nurkic get in a groove. Going to be hard to come back.

Ugh, you cant let a team like Portland that has 2-3 guys who can create their own shots have a lead down to the end where you have to depend on stops. They have a lead because we take dumb shots and turn the ball over needlessly.

Also, under 5 minutes left and we have Green and Anderson on the floor at the same time and neither have any possibility of making or even taking a shot. So we have to settle for Kawhi taking a fade away three or another bad shot....sigh

Another stupid turnover by Green who is driving to the basket with no intention of shooting whatsoever.....

I don't care what our record is. This team is hard to watch....

This is a bad loss that we totally deserved. A good team would have beaten us by 20

What a frustrating game. We had our chances and fought back pretty well in the last few minutes, but it never should've been so close. TOs are a killer.

Nice game for Kawhi, at least, and it was good to see LMA out there; he had some nice plays down the stretch, too.

Oh, well. On to the next one!

Danny Green with a stupid turnover.
Aldridge still missing the easy ones.

Manu needs to talk to Yao Ming on how to accomplish what he failed to do, lol.

And Kyle really needs to take some damn shots. Shot clock is winding down, so he dribbles from the corner to the FT line, wastes time, and passes it to Kawhi for the bail-out shout. Even Hubie Brown was like "wow"

Keep doing your thing, Kawhi.

danny green when he puts ball onto floor, seems like the ball is longer in his hands then said compared to any other player on the team...teams are forcing or allowing him to put ball onto floor, knowing its a turnover or missed brick layup...his defense tonight or of late has been very streaky, gambling and late on switches, stupid mistakes/fouls yet has the audacity to always complaining to refs...

Really a poor performance by the team and especially by Pop...you can't expect much if you're closing the game with Kyle and Green.

I didn't mind closing with Kyle and Green, both are not so great offense players but they're also two of our best defenders and we really needed them on the floor in those closing minutes.

My big issue with Pop's rotation last night was him not throwing Kawhi at Lillard in the 3rd, that's what sunk us. Lillard got hot and we did nothing to try and slow him down until it was far too late.
