This is going to be a tough one. Rockets are completely different team than the Grizzlies our focus for this one is going to be defending the perimeter rather than defending the rim.

For us to win this series Tony needs to continue to play well and Kawhi and Green needs to play some unreal defense. We have to control the pace of the game and fight through screens every game.

I see us winning in 6 or 7 games. Houston isn't going to go down without a fight .

I think Grizz are a much better defensive team. Much much better. Vince Carter, Ennis, etc. guarding Kawhi is the same as Ariza guarding Kawhi. I don't think anyone will be able to stop Kawhi in this series. With that being said, we need other players to make shots. Not necessarily tough clutch shots, but open shots (looking at you Green, Patty, B3rtans). Tony needs to play like he has against the Grizz, and although I have lost all faith in LA to perform like an all star, we do need him to crash the boards and hit some clutch shots down the stretch if Kawhi isn't available for a shot and if our offense stagnates too much.

Grizz were way better defensively, but Rockets are much better offensively. Defense is the key in this series (obv.). I think that means that we have to incredibly solid defensively with as little mistakes as possible. Other than Tony and Kawhi, I think Green will be an X-factor. If he hits his threes, we win. If not, it will be a lot tougher.

Prediction: Spurs in 6
Fear: Rockets in 7

In my opinion, this could be the x-factor. Kawhi on Harden is the obvious matchup, but think about how much more effective KW will be on offense if he isn't sapped having to chase Harden around all game. Obviously, team defense is the biggest issue, since it's all about guarding the arc with these Rox, but if Pop can sic Green on Harden and get decent neutralization out of it, that'll go a long way toward not burning KW out halfway through the series.

So this version of the Spurs finally figured out how to win an actual playoff game in game 6 against Memphis. They will need to continue playing aggressively instead of letting the opposition dictate play.

We need to guard the perimeter and stop Houston's pick and roll and we should be fine. Harden is going to get his and I'm pretty sure he is going to get about 8000 free throw attempts in this series. We just need to contain the others like Beverly, Anderson, Lou Williams and Gordan. Ariza hasen't been getting huge numbers lately and Capela and Nene only excel with that pick and roll. If we can keep the others from having huge games it wont matter what Harden does.

Bold. lol. Like really bold. My heart agrees, but I just can't get over the fact that our guys (not named leonard, Parker) will not contribute as much.

Also Anderson is trash. Fuming pile of trash. I don't see him getting any real playoff minutes. Agree with simmons, bertans, dedmon. Tbh though if LA plays like he should, he can dominate Rockets. Gasol, Randolph>Cappella, Nene, every Rockets big.

I'm really intrigued with all of the defensive matchups that are going to happen in this series. I like the idea of Kawhi on Anderson to start games. That should ice the Harden/Anderson pick n pop. But if Anderson starts camping out 5 feet behind the arc, we gotta get Kawhi onto someone else. I do think we can go all out this series, playing Kawhi 40+ every night if neeeded, as travel won't be an issue.

Bold plan, start Kyle over Lee or Dedmon. Let Kawhi cover Anderson to kill that pick and roll early and if the Rockets decide to stick Anderson in the corner switch Kyle onto him and put Kawhi on the ball.

Oooh I like it! I actually think Anderson has a place in this series. It's crazy to me how much flack he's catching by Lowe and Nate Duncan. His future is at the 4, and I think he could be damn good at it this series.

Agreed! Hopefully he gets some real minutes early on. He could be a big time difference maker for us on both ends in this series.

Not only will he work well against Anderson he's the perfect guy to put on Decker and Ariza (when he plays the 4) as well.

One of the big keys to this series is going to be controlling the pace and not letting the Rockets run us into the ground. Kyle can really help us in that regard, he's a great transition defender and a low turnover guy.

He's got size and deceptive speed too. The problem is we just aren't gonna get away with playing two big slow guys this series. I think any weaknesses Kyle would normally have in comparison to a traditional 4 aren't things the rockets are going to take advantage of anyway, but we'd still get length and size at the position.

This x1000000000000000000000

LMA sucks. Gasol sucks. We have the 2 softest big in the league. No. Argument. Period.

Why didn't Pop play Dedmon more than 5 seconds? I liked his attitude and the fight in him tbh. U know what we need? Dedmon and B3rtans to start and Murray/Simmons to start for Green. No way. I repeat No way will I accept "his defense is great and makes up for his lack of threat from 3". Green is absolute trash at this point. I'm tired of the "he's a great defender" argument. Green is about as useful as LMA, which means absolutely useless obviously. God, I really hate this team's performance. I really hate how this team is constructed. It's like a buncha random names were picked out of a hat. I feel so sorry for Leonard.

Also. Parker needs to retire. Ginobili needs to retire. and also again I repeat: LMA absolutely sucks. Lakers were soooooo lucky not to land him. He suuuuuuuuuuucks!!!

like i said spurs in 4...i didnt mentioning anything about winning

anyway LMA needs to be traded in the off season, this is a perimeter league now, no point in having dominant bigs who play soft or just scared of low posts body contact...dude is a scrub who zones out with no impact,

danny green h ow many more shots does the team need to feed him to get him going, when its clear as fact his not the same shooter he once was...maybe he should take his mug lionel richie face to another team...defense wasnt there tonight, brick after brick shots from him, hits a shot when the g ame was clearly over...thats all he does, only shows up when game is over...i rather some shooter takes his minutes or those open shots the team gets for him...dont get me started when he put the ball onto the floor tonight, freakn clown either dribbles into a wall of players or thumbles it out..

kawhi did everything he could tonight, yet nobody could hit a shot...yet the clowns on here want him to be a playmaker, when his the one passing it to them who throw up bricks all night... the only person who could get going and his own production tonight was kawhi, look how he kept on crashing the boards, yet clowns like lma/pau/lee couldnt even grab a contested rebound or just outrebounded and hustled by the rockets bigs....

u telling me kawhi has to p ut up with this roster 2 more years through his max contract? i wouldnt be surprise he will honor his contract then leave when the time comes...
