2017 PLAYOFFS: WCF Warriors (1) vs. Spurs (2)

Post#1 » by Nolan » Fri May 12, 2017 3:38 pm

The schedule:

G1 May 14th: Spurs at Warriors 3:30 PM EST
G2 May 16th: Spurs at Warriors 9PM EST
G3 May 20th: Warriors at Spurs 9PM EST
G4 TBD: Warriors at Spurs 8 PM EST
G5 TBD: Spurs at Warriors 0:00 PM EST
G6 TBD: Warriors at Spurs 0:00 PM EST
G7 TBD: Spurs at Warriors 0:00 PM EST

The lowdown:

This is going to a tough series. We all know who and what the Warrior are, we played them good in the regular season but this is the playoffs and those wins really don't mean anything any more. We have to bring our A game every night on both ends and we can't afford to make mistakes. This might seem like an impossible task but we can win this.

Let's go Spurs!!

We're going to believe in the good guys and ride this thing until the last second, whether that last second ticks away in June or in May. Let's win this one for every basketball fan who doesn't call the Bay Area home!

in kawhi i trust, when pop puts in a perimeter lineup of kawhi, green, simmons, expect them to shut down the perimeter...hopefully the big and pg guy can put up the energy and remain focus disrupt the gsw, make t hem work for their points...

dj will be useful this series, same with patty, make curry waste energy chasing them or defending them...

gsw has too many offensive players but only 1 ball...kawhi can just shut down kd, and im not concern with klay, some unknown can guard him...keep curry off the 3pt and inside layups...force the midrange jumpshot

I can't wait for he series to begin. GSW knew this would be their toughest challenge to date. I think our swarming defense and offensive firepower should prevail. It's very difficult to stop Durant. He can shoot from anywhere on the court. If his outside shot isn't going in, he'll drive to the basket for 2 and a foul. Curry loves to come off of a pick for a quick release 3 that's hard to stop also. No doubt it'll be a battle! Whoever wins this must win over Lebron in the finals

Respect the hell out of your team and franchise. I can only hope that the Warriors are starting to build something like the Spurs have over their history in the NBA. 20 straight years making the playoffs and I think I heard that they have made the playoffs 36 out of their 40 year in the NBA. Looking forward to the series and I will be rooting for the winner in the finals.

As you read this, I'm sitting in the Alamodome an hour early, waiting for a college graduation ceremony that doesn't begin until 2 PM and lasts until 4 PM.

UTSA has the worst commencement schedules in academic history, and I am highly bitter. I hope the people sitting in the seats around us wanted to hear the game on iPhone speakers, because they're 'bout to.

Go Spurs.

Just want to say that zaza foul on leonard was so dirty! He pushed his foot out not once but twice, and didn't allow him to land. Such a dirty player. Hope he's okay and you win the series!

That game was our chance to make this a series. Tough one to let get away. It was as simple as we stopped being aggressive and started turning the ball over because of it. Regardless if Kawhi was playing late, we should have won that game.

As far as Pachulia goes, He is a total dick and a dirty player but I don't think he was doing anything but defending that jumper.

Agreed that one hurt, a lot. Kawhi going down just drained us. We had a real chance to take control of this series.

Hopefully Kawhi can play in game 2. Without him this might be a sweep.

I feel for you guys. You were giving them a proper beatdown and then they have their goon take out Leonard.

**** them. Go Spurs!

I feel so bad for you guys.. I absolutely love LMA and Kawhi as players..

I have always HATED scrub zaza since his Atlanta Hawk days.. when he used to try to get tough with KG.. hes plain out dirty..

I was rooting for you guys to win yesterday and for sure would have won if Kawhi did not get injured.. Not sure how the Warriors just keep getting lucky and lucky but karma will get to them very soon.. I hope Kawhi makes a speedy recovery and makes it by Game 3.. Idk how you will do it but I hope you win this series and play the Celtics in the finals :)

Appreciate it but don't feel bad for us. This team isn't capable of winning a championship unless it learns to not rely on Kawhi as much. The rest of this team needs to pull together now like it did in the last series.

Even with a healthy Leonard, I and most people thought we were losing this series in 5-6 games anyway. We need to do something extraordinary to win this series and maybe something controversial like this will pull the rest of the team together to maybe do something like that. We need Kawhi to be playing well and the rest of the team to play as it did in Game 6 against Houston to even have a prayer in this series. We did it for 3 quarters so lets see what happens now.

As others have said, G1 was our black-swan; Pachulia fell on the swan and killed it. All we can realistically hope for is a moral victory-- a game in which we show signs of life and put a scare into them despite being short-manned and in hostile territory, a la the Miami 'fine game' we almost won despite Pop sending half the team home (though let me clear, in case the basketball gods are reading: we will accept, with fervent gratitude, a win tonight).
