Things are starting to heat up now that the finals are over. The Celtics have dealt the #1 pick to the 76ers and it appears Paul George is on the move.
Discuss away peoples!!

Is Lamarcus Aldridge friends with Lebron at all? I would take Kevin Love for him in a heartbeat
Also, Ainge is exposing the rest of the leagues worst GMs

I dunno I feel like the Celtics played themselves this time. The return looks good on paper but Fultz is something special and passing on him is a mistake.

I think it was a good move. Ainge claims he will draft the same player at 3 that he was going to at 1 plus now he has another potential lottery pick next year.

Baynes is on the market. I wonder if we could get him back cheaper than what Dedmon thinks he will get?

I'd be all for it. He's a solid center.

I guess a good move if your on the Josh Jackson hype train with them. But passing on Fultz is a massive mistake as far as I'm concerned. Kid is something else.

Couple somewhat big deals went down last night:
Nets and Hornets made out well in both those deals.
Nets found a way to get a great young player with star potential and the Hornets got a defensive center and a better 2nd round pick for nothing.

Hornets did OK, Nets not so much. Mozgov's contract is a huge anchor, and Russel is currently a bust... The pick was definitely overpaying.

Hornets gave up nothing though. Plumlee's deal is awful and Howard is at least playable. Even if Howard is completely done they moved up from 41 to 31.
I also don't like the fact that Brooklyn gave up a pick. But I wouldn't call Russell a bust just yet, he hasn't lived up to the hype yet but he did average 16 and 5 last year. He has his warts but even if he doesn't improve he's still a solid player.

As I said, the Hornets did OK, Dwight's not bright, but he is decent as a player, especially if he's willing to stay in his role.
Russel though, is an empty stats guy. WP/48 of -.001 and .006 last year and this year... Inefficient shooting and too many TO's. Giving up a pick and usable vet for him and the Mozgov contract is overpaying.

The pick was 27 and Lopez was rotting away on that team. They couldn't get a first for him at the deadline and he was going to walk next summer so it's not really a big loss for the Nets either way. The Mozgov deal is crap, but it doesn't really effect their current situation all that much, they can still sign an RFA to max deal.
I don't care for Russell either but it's not like he's a guy on the verge of washing out. At the worst he's a decent 3rd scoring option with room to grow. He could really thrive with the Nets playing next to Lin and playing for Atkinson. To me the deals well worth the risk, the Nets had no other way to get a high end prospect.

I think that Charlotte/Atlanta deal shows how much the Hawks wanted to get away from Dwight the franchise killer. They took basically garbage to get him out of there.
I'm still thinking Russell has a shot to be good, he was just stuck in that hellhole in LA. The Laker franchise is known for taking great players from other teams but when have they ever developed a young player into a star ever? Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant don't count because they were stars before they were even drafted.

I really liked the idea of him heading to Atlanta last summer, he seemed to want to be there and he was a good fit next to Millsap. But man that soured quickly.

You could also just change two words in that sentence and keep using it over and over:
I really liked the idea of him heading to
Houston last summer, he seemed to want to be there and he was a good fit next to
Harden. But man that soured quickly.
I really liked the idea of him heading to
Los Angeles last summer, he seemed to want to be there and he was a good fit next to
Kobe. But man that soured quickly.

Truth brotha. If only the guy could accept his role.

I'd be all over Millsap. I really wish we would of signed him over LMA in the first place.
