I like the pick. Like White he's an older player and earlier in the season he was rated in the first round but he's dropped since the draft process has begun.
Excellent athlete, good defender and a somewhat decent shooter. He's got to get more consistent with his jumper but he has solid role player potential.
Thoughts on Jaron?

White has signed his deal already but this is the first two way deal we've signed.
Some info on two-way deals for those interested:

Personally, I would have taken Alpha Kaba ahead of Jaron. I am in no way confident Jaron will make it; hopefully I am wrong. I expect Alpha to make at least at 4th big man, and maybe as much as a starter. Jaron, on the other hand, I can not see ever being more than a career backup.

I don't get why Kaba dropped so far. There has to be something else going on with him off the court. Not necessarily saying its attitude but possibly something to do with his expectations.

And if we are looking back in hindsight, we should have done the necessary to acquire a high 2nd to get Jonah Bolden. Presently, I see us with no real PF's (Aldridge has become a C, de facto)...

I love Bolden too but who knows what the price was to get a 2nd. The Warriors paid 3+ million for the 38th pick. Which is very very steep.

Don't know, but I would have been quite happy with Spurs 2018 first for #36, Sixers 2018 second... And I think Philly might have taken it as well. Even if we had to throw in cash on top, I would have gone for it.
Given today's cap world, if I was running the Spurs, I would have a standing fund for the GM to use buying picks. This is an idea that I think GSW is using, and appears to have value:
2017 they buy #38 and get Bell - we will see if he pans out
2016 - Patrick McCaw bought at #38, 1072 minutes at a Wp/48 of 0.089, which is to say a backup player, on a really cheap contract, who looks to get better.

I really do like that idea actually.
