Finally, after so many tough games lately, we have a chance to coast and grab an easy road win...

...

...I hope my sarcasm isn't lost on anyone. Our brutal late-season schedule continues with the league's hottest team over the last six weeks and the owners of its best record. LMA (right knee soreness) and Gino (old-man rest) are sitting, so this one has big potential to get away from us fast-- these guys have been phenomenal all year and Harden is the front-runner on nearly every MVP ballot, and while it would be nice to have arguably the game's best defender to stick on him, the good guys need to gut this out; perhaps the news that Kawhi could return this week will provide enough motivation for us to play above ourselves, because we're going to need to on both ends to have a chance tonight.

Ryan Anderson (hip) will sit for the Rox.

Embarrassing is the only word that fits.
Is it possible to lose by 100 ? Because we are on our way......
Spurs record for points margin in a loss is 47 against the Lakers in 1986. We could break that tonight after what Ive seen in the first quarter.
Tony Parker is the only guy on our roster playing tonight that can score on his own.

None of what is happening is a surprise BTW, its just hard to watch...

Well not completely unexpected, and I liked that we fought back after some wilting on their run that saw their lead balloon to 26 at one point.

Pop had a lot of teaching moments, starting with around four minutes in when he yanked all the starters. He told them if they didn't run back on D they wouldn't play. Timeout. All reserves in. Wowzers. I love it. Murray looked displeased on the bench, but them's the lessons, young man. He took instructions from Pop really well the rest of the way, so credit to him for not letting his play get affected by the subbings.

Patty played the fewest starter minutes, and really it was the young guys who brought a lot of energy and good play. Our starters combined for 10 first half points. TEN. Rudy was the only starter in double digits by the end of the game; we had four bench players in double digits. A lot of our young, seldom used players showed up, and I liked their moxie throughout the game. They were great on both ends, really, and weren't at all overwhelmed by the moment or who they were guarding. White and Bryn led us in scoring; White and Paul were terrific with their grit and execution. White could have passed to a rolling Costello (a couple of missed opportunities to distribute) but I'm quibbling here, at least they were running the play and had a couple of option from which to choose to score because of it.

The takeaway has to be learning to play the right way against quality teams. On to the next one. Home sweet home six-game stretch. We know what we need to do. Just have to do it. I love our team. GO SPURS GO!
