Many sources have us going Shooting Guard with either Jerome Robinson from Boston College or Donte DeVincenzo of Villanova.
I wouldn't mind either of them.
I also wouldn't mind taking a shot at Grayson Allen of Duke but 18 is a little high to pick him IMO.
And since I've watched him up close here in Michigan I wouldn't mind going after Moe Wagner but again 18 might be too high for him.

A quick perusal of latest mocks has us taking Smith, Huerter, Brown, Jr., Knox, Hutchison, some point guards (which I don't get why, redundant, and we're not getting anyone at #18 who projects to be better than Murray), and Robinson - lights out from the 3. I like his approach, saying one of his key strengths is his overall understanding of the game. Not into Allen, and I like Robinson more than Donte, but maybe the recent hype has me skeptical.

In the second round, there's Vince Edwards, Ray Spaulding, Kevin Hervey, and Wagner.

I think there is really great value at the wing spot in this draft form spots like 10-25, depending on how the top-10 shake out.
I'd be thrilled with Lonnie Walker, Troy Brown, Kevin Huerter or Dzanan Musa, personally, not that I'm claiming to be an expert evaluator.
I also think it's good that Danny Green is apparently opting in for another year. Not only because I think he's a great dude and I'm happy to cheer for him, but I also think he can potentially be moved to SF if we draft a SG that is a bit of a play maker, which is absolutely the kind of thing we need.
He's a versatile defender that will also come off the bench without complaining so imo it's a good thing to have him next season when we potentially won't have Kawhi.

I really like this kid. I'm so damn excited about this pick.

Can't wait to see how he gels with Dejounte.

keep kawhi and throw this kid at him in the gym, see how he pans out

at leasts he will get experience defending and dropping deuces on kawhi b4 he bolts...

actually i move him up the rotation if vets are retiring and danny g reen opting out...give him the starting spot, give him the minutes to develop instead of gleague and inconsistent minutes with the main roster...

i call in blossomgame, walker, and whoever spurs drafted last year...tell them there are a few open spots left on the roster to be taken, go out and earn it....

RC on our draft selections. Includes some Kawhi questions later. Ends the interview with, "We don't do our business in the public." Quiet integrity.

Buford delighted with Spurs' draft haul

R.C. Buford isn't a man prone to hyperbole or extreme emotion. But the Spurs general manager emerged from the Spurs war room late Thursday night clearly delighted with a draft haul highlighted by the selection of former Miami guard Lonnie Walker IV in the first round.

"This is really an exciting day for us," Buford said after joking a bit with the media about how hot it was in the press room at the Spurs practice facility.... "In our evaluations, he was significantly higher than where we drafted him," Buford said.

"Their point guard got hurt early in the year and he had to take a lot of responsibility as a freshman and it didn't faze him," Buford said. "He made several game-winning shots at the buzzer and took on most of their difficult matchups in the backcourt. He's been well-coached, he plays plays hard, a terrific athlete and his offensive skills continue to develop."

In addition to Walker, the Spurs selected 6-foot-11 former USC forward Chimezie Metu in the second round with the 49th overall pick.

"We are excited about him as well," Buford said. "I think we added length and athleticism in both of our picks tonight. Those are good additions."
