Back home for the first of a two-game stretch after an all things considered successful road trip versus strong teams. We must capitalize any chances we have now to put away teams records indicate we should, mainly by not playing to any given team's record but by focusing on generating full team energy, maximizing our strengths, and learning from past lessons going forward. Strong start, smart play, stronger finish. Let's get after it, Spurs!
WHERE: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

Some roster updates for tonight's game. Really hope we get off to a great start and maintain it to give our young guys some minutes:

It's early, but we surely have an advantage inside yet keep driving and having an open shot but choosing to kick out for the farther shot. On the other end, we are not running out on their 3s.
BOTH need remedying right quick as we're playing more to their game. Take the shot that is there, Spurs!
And for the love of basketball fundamentals, finish STRONG at the basket, Spurs!!!

Truly mindnumbingly dumb playbook in most of the first half by us. There's no sugar coating it: we're passing up WIDE OPEN SHOTS AT THE RIM to kick out for missed longer shots, and currently stand at 4-17 from 3. It's like we're stuck in drive and kick mode and see nothing else.
We are also not contesting their 3s, playing to their season percentages as we watch them increase.
I hope Pop **** rips into them about the pathetic effort here.
EVERY time we drove we had an open shot, and only missed bunnies.
Get your heads out of your asses and take it strong to the basket, get to the FT line, and contest 3s, Spurs.

If anything, I hope this forces us to be sellers at the trade deadline.
This team sucks and there if we are relying on Murray and Walker for the future we are doomed.
If there was any doubt what the front office was thinking, it should be obvious now.

I knew it. All game long I just **** knew it.
You start out not bothering to contest 3s, you don't bother to take advantage of the clear edge inside, but instead settle for drives and kick outs when we had open lane after open lane.
Then we do those things that get us a big lead, namely driving and getting to the FT line.
Then we go back to Bryn being in the game and being absolutely horrible missing everything. I am solidly OFF the Pop playing Bryn because he **** works hard. Not making shots from 3 and missing floaters - THAT'S HIS JOB - does not warrant keeping him in the game. I no longer care about what reasons there may be for off the court hard work. Other guys need a shot here.
Then we go back to outside shot after out side shot, and missed bunny after missed bunny rather than aggressively dunking. Too careless, too set in our set plays, didn't drive hard to the basket and then they drove on us and got FTs (27-23 attempts) and allowed a bottom feeding team to go on a 7-0 run to finish us off - on a 3 - the very same thing we established not doing at the beginning of the game, so it came full circle to bite us right where it should have. This after we swing the game 28 points our way from being down 13 to being up 15, and another weakest Q in the final 12 minutes. **** pathetic going away from what worked, sagging off on their shooters not bothering to run to close out, and here we are. Roll in **** play, deserve the stink.

P.S. I HATE LAZY NON-RUN OUTS AND NON-CONTESTS ON SHOTS JUST GIVING UP AND WATCHING THE SHOT GO UP
AND I HATE MISSED BUNNIES
AND DRIVE AND KICK OUTS WHEN WE HAVE A WIDE OPEN LANE TO THE BASKET
AND BRYN IN THE STARTING LINE-UP.
JUST FIX THESE THINGS TO START.

This on a night when just about every other West team lost like we needed them to to get ahead in the standings, this on a night when we absolutely should not have given up a 3 as the last shot, this on a night when we absolutely had to execute versus a team that was supposed to be the easier game to try and win.
I hope Pop **** rips into them. The kid gloves have to come off and guys have to start looking at themselves as to how each plays on D, and finishes at the rim, and run the plays are run. Bryn should do the responsible thing and pull himself from the starting line-up. Take a team lightly, get embarrassed. I hope it stings.
