Right, when this was first news I thought, just don't go there, as it's yet another public résumé / look, Spurs, I'm really walking towards that door, ok?! And I thought, ****, just **** go already. It's been a weird ride with all the interviews done about her coaching ability. Never seen anything like it from any assistant coaches, even with her being the first female assistant coach in the NBA. That's not a shut up and coach thing, it just got distasteful how the Spurs kept being put on notice, especially after her interview with persona non grata Jabari Young - this will never not be a weird choice, and a turning point.
And here we are:
At least she parlayed that into the highest WNBA deal. But yeah, Spurs aren't going to cave into a media campaign. She did what was best for her when it's been made clear Spurs will do what's best for the franchise long-term.
I'm really surprised she has been here this long to be honest.
I like her a lot but the whole "rumor has it this organization in interested in making her the first woman to do this and that" stuff has become tiresome.
It's not her fault. The media just likes to grab on to whatever narrative they want to push and ram it down our throats constantly.
