SPURS GAME DAY! GAME 47: SPURS VS. NETS, 21-1-2022, 7:30PM (CT)

Post#1 » by G R E Y » Fri Jan 21, 2022 5:01 pm

We finish the season series looking to for payback to split what will surely be an emotional game with a couple of former Spurs making their first return. We'll need communication and hustle throughout solid perimeter defense, ball protection, gang rebounding as well as imposing our movement-based O game to rise to the task.

Well it's a pick your poison from 3 or inside when we don't rotate well or allow their perimeter players any space.

Get the energy and urgency up, Spurs.

POP WITH THE EARLY MASK-OFF, FULL ON EXASPERATED LOOK when we pass cross court instead of making the better play of Keldon taking Patty on the mismatch post up.

READ THE PLAY, MAKE THE PLAY, SPURS!

I'm loving Devin as the first player off the bench.

1ST Q: SPURS 26

NETS 24

Proud of our come back to finish the Q. We did a better job moving on and off ball, great cuts, terrific patience with the ball to find the open man.

Some missed bunnies with poor glass angles, but we made enough shots at the rim to make it count and come back from a 14-5 deficit to finish with a lead.

DJ's midrange is cooking. His early passes weren't there, so a Pop timeout and staredown to make the right good play reset the tone.

We need to make more of our 3s.

Love the defensive switches and awareness.

Good rebounding.

We're getting a lot of open looks on their D, just have to take better advantage of it.

Drive drive drive at them relentlessly, Spurs!

Instead of trying to actually make the shot, While is leaning in hoping to get a cheap foul. I cannot stand when guys do that.....

We're getting bodied down low by a savvy vet. Bring him out of that area on both ends, box out and rebound better, nd get to the switch coverage better.

BOOOOOOOO!!!

How can you hate these beautiful unis?

And what kind of pajamas did you wear as a kid?!

I love them! They're so clean and fresh and not relying on the black background as so often before.

To each their Fiesta own!

The black fiestas I can live with although I'm still not a fan. But these white ones just look bad. I'd rather have the camo one back than this and those sucked LOL

See, I really like that Murray got pissed at White for that stupid pass. I have always said that we need a little red ass on this team and Murray is it. People need to held accountable a little bit for dumb things that aren't necessary.

2ND Q: SPURS 51

NETS 50

Game keeps swinging back and forth. We once again made some dumb end of Q plays and it cost us. There's risk and then there's whatever the hell brain numbing play that was, Derrick. Dj wasn't immune to some dumb plays, too, but let's correct it.

Keldon isn't getting the right angles on the glass. His rhythm is off.

Devin is just slightly off, too, but getting plenty of chances.

Lonnie is showing out well on both ends, good for him.

Jakob is only 1-2 so we need to get him and our other bigs more involved.

We don't have someone to stop LMA's size but we have to bring him out of the key or work to prevent him from setting up on the low block.

More movement, smarter passes, and push the pace more, Spurs!

They're beating us down the court behind our D for fast break points too much.

We're settling for outside shots too much.
